Staithes is a loveley little quaint fishing village, Capt Cook Inn is at the tope end just off the main drag down to Whitby.
Not a lot there apart from a small museaum and pub down in the small harbour. If you like the steam trains then head to Grosmont where the sheds are.
I was there for the Flying Scotsman visit a few weeks back.

better places than the Magpie and a lot cheaper.
Try the Humble Pie on the abbey side of the Harbour, over the bridge and 2nd left . Lovely homemade pies ,mash and mushy peas.
I know a good chippie up towards West Cliffe behind the Magpie area, owned by a Barnsley fan, only opens lunchtimes then again on the night. Best chips in Whitby.
