Nothing will happen to him. To be punished retrospectively by the FA the ref will have to say he didn't see it. But he did because he stopped play, so if he thinks it was accidental then Barton will get off scot free.

Just because he stopped play it doesn't mean he actually saw the incident.

Burnley trying to claim it was accidental. The fact that Barton apologised to Kayal makes it obvious he knew exactly what he's done.

I am starting to calm down now, giving myself more time to think things through.
And getting more and more angry.
To add more fuel to the fire about Barton/Pawson, everybody knows what he is like, what he has done in the past and his character when he loses the plot, and yet still he does not even get a booking. I am telling you there is more to this than meets the eye, no referee is that bad and stupid at his level, maybe once but definitely not twice.
Regarding the Burnley manager I am afraid that is a normal reply except a few managers who have the balls to tell the truth.

If the ref DID see it and didn't even think it worthy of a yellow then he should be banned from refereeing for good. That was a potential leg-breaker.

Either Barton or the referee should get banned if not both, one of the worst set of officials I've seen, the lineman on the left couldn't make his mind up all game and they should of had another goal.

Quite, Barton was a horrible little **** in this match, for him not to be punished is outstanding, either the ref is totally incompetent and shouldn't be involved in football of any level, or as you say there is more to it than meets the eye.

Gods trousers! that is the first time I have seen it (above) its worse than I thought.
He should be back in prison for that.
I don't do twitter, Barton is a twitter freak, someone who can hold a decent argument (plenty on here) get on twitter and rip him apart.
I would love to see his reply.

That is appalling, the fact he thinks it's normal is even more revealing.

I used to think he was just misunderstood, but no he clearly is a classless goon with no integrity or merit, what an absolute ****.

CH said he thought there was nothing malicious in either challenge without the benefit of seeing replays. I think he might change his mind when he does.
