Predicting these things are impossible, BUT it would be interesting to see where we'd finish if we could input results with the following rules:

Home to a team below you, 3 points
Away to a team below you, 1 point
Home to a team above you, 1 point
Away to a team above you, 0 points

Obviously, that would need to take into account a "rolling" league table, where the table changes week on week adhering to the rules above.

Is there anyone geeky enough? If not, perhaps I'll do it this evening...

Only problem with that is it means that Hull won't lose another game this season, if you apply your formula!

There must be someone who is a GEEK and has time on their hands to put in the remaining fixtures for the top 8/9 clubs so that we can have a PREDICTOR table which determines if we go up/make the playoffs/have a whip round for a #BarberOut banner for the North Stand etc?

As luck would have it, there does happen to be JUST such a company based in North London that has just happens to have such a BS PREDICTOR table available. Tho you have to be particularly gullible, live in the Far East and a have a shedload of money available to access its BS predictions.

BUT... teams at the bottom still have to play each other, so cant all take max points from their remaining 15 games....

Two different questions, isn't it. How many teams can catch us is one question. Can we be relegated is another.

Every one of the teams in the league could potentially catch us if we have a bad run and they play a blinder.

But no, we can't be relegated; that would need 21 teams to all get more than 57 points (or at a pinch, 57 points with a better goal difference). That can't happen now.

Are you sure? I'm pretty sure it can. Charlton, Bolton, Hull and Middlesbrough can lose all 15 (16) games against other teams. Rotherham need to win 10 and draw 1, they can lose 4. Bristol need to win 8 or 9 - they can lose 6. Huddersfield in 17th only need to win 7, and can lose 7.

Yes, I'm sure. Do all the permutations for the remaining matches this season. Some teams will be able to get more than 57 points - but not 21 of them.

If we started the season with two teams so bad that they'd only get about half a dozen points between them all season, it might just be mathematically possible, but from where we are now, it isn't possible.

Ten minutes before Triggaaar is on here tediously explaining why you can't round up the points and have to round down.
Hey, **** you pal.

I don't believe you. Wanna bet?
