I would be prepared to go what we have until February if Glenn could be secured

I'd disagree , especially if any loan couldn't play the play offs

The loan window is open from 2nd Feb to Mid March probably midnight 16th/17th being the 3rd Thursday. Should we not sign a striker before then I wou;ld look at a loan for GM or Kermogant.

It should close on the 24th March, as it's always closes on the 4th Thursday in March, pre the transfer window this was always the day that no more transfer deals could be done until the end of the season.

So obviously we'll only look at this from mid Feb - when is the first available date to sign him & he be available for the play off final too should we get there..
Ps I assume you have to allow for the play off dates...?

To account for the play off final we'd not be able to sign anyone until 26th Feb (if my maths is right).

FFS!!! Murray??

Well, someone had to
Fwiw I think we have to look for better, I loved Glenn when he was here before and was gutted when we didn't give him a new deal, but i don't think he's been the same since his injury, Palace probably wouldn't have let him go if he was, and didn't Reading have the option to turn his loan into a permanent deal?
Has he been getting regular games at Bournemouth? Genuine question, I haven't been following him there, but I suspect it's not happened for him there or they wouldn't have signed Adobe and Grabban in particular, as he's not even as good as Murray was with us or Palace pre injury.

I think it's because people have seen them play regularly & know what they can do. Also there's a much, much greater chance of a player joining who's already played for the club than those that haven't - see Hammond, Zamora, Bennett etc as just 3 recent examples...

Plus GM lives in Brighton & many seem to suggest he would love to come back.

Apart from that you have a point  ;)

Tbf we did have a thread on practically every possibly available ex player in the Summer!

I'm not particularly bothered either way, if he returns, but to say he was s*** is utter tosh. He was injured, wasn't he? In that final season at Withdean he was brilliant. He won every header, and was a great all-round forward.

pity we didn't go with a Murray/Wood combination on a permanent basis back then ?

Has it really come to this that we need to look to Bournemouth for players.

I do wonder when and from where we are going to get the desperately needed striker. Oh well, must Keep the Faith.

Is it strikers we need or better service to our strikers we have Wilson who many teams wanted to sign give him quality service and he will score. You could argue the point of Hemed in a fully functioning squad he was scoring also.

Why would Glenn Murray want to come back to us, when fans used to abuse him in the same way as they did with Ashley Barnes and we in effect said to him that we wouldn't pay a wages that he was asking for( and also because we had wasted 3 million on CMS) and said he wasn't wanted.

If you read his Twitter feed he is 100% palace. He comments on their results and players all the time. He hasn't mentioned brighton that I have seen.

It's time we moved on.......Vicente on the other hand!!!

It was apparently derisory in comparison to CMS wages and a small upgrade on his League One wage, do you know better?

He wouldn't have known what CMS was offered as it was three months later. I was told by someone I trust that we offered him double his lg one wages, but he wanted more.
