The Sky contract is worth £65 million a season (and that includes the League Cup), compared to the new Premier League BT/Sky deal worth £1,712 million a season from 2016/17. On top of that the overseas rights for the Premier League are worth £743 million a season but are expected to rise by about 50% next year.

I was talking to a Leeds STH last night who said that Leeds have improved substantially since signing Liam Bridcutt, who has been their best player.

Hopefully they will show our game instead seeing as I can't go due to it being moved from yesterday.

This game was never moved was it ? It was set as this when the fixtures came out.

Every time Dirty Leeds or Forest are on TV someone will post about it as a bad thing. Now someone is making a stand about it and it appears that this is a bad thing too.

If anyone in football is bonkers enough to actually stand up to Sky no matter what the consequences then it's Cellino.

This could be an awesome binfest.
Marvellous scenes.

Yep but Cellino isnt doing it for the right reasons. He's not standing for disruption to fans he's just doing it for the publicity.

They must be on TV 10-15 times a season which is worth about £4m a season extra to them so he will back down...

Well, if the people wanted to bring down Sky, it would be the easiest thing to do. The trouble is that the people don't want to bring down Sky. Perhaps Cellino could start banning Sky subscribers from Elland Road, it's the sort of bonkers thing he would do :lolol:

His rationale is that the compensation they receive for a Sky home game is less than the loss of gate receipts. As they are such a MASSIVE club, the average compensation rate discriminates against them since the absolute gate loss is greater for them.

None of us really know what the detailed contractual position between the clubs and the FL is re. Sky. However, if he doesn't back down then the FL are likely to fine Leeds heavily. The only winners will be the lawyers.

I agree your first point but £4M? I thought the fee was £150K a game. He's suggesting that he's losing out on the ticket revenue that would have been generated if the TV weren't there .... so if he loses about 4000 matchday sales then he's likely losing money.

He's still a wanchor though!
