Pakistan v England test match

There's a fascinating test series just about to start in Brisbane. Think the Kiwis can get some sort of revenge for the World Cup here. The Aussies are missing Clarke and Rogers, with Khawaja having yet another stab at test cricket. The NZ pace attack is pretty impressive too.

The world's most irritating sportsman has already been sounding off about this game and, with a bit of luck, could get a quacker - although, unfortunately, he's got some ability to go with his gob and could equally get a ton. Should be a cracker
Are you talking about Warner? 163

And losing 3 tosses out of three was hardly helpful.

I would love to see this same series with England winning the toss each time. Constantly polaying catch up on these attritional spinning wickets is not easy, especially with a couple of players bang out of form (Ali, Buttler). The series in England will be a whitewash the other way, without a doubt.

Almost inevitable wasn't it? As I said, his ability is in direct proportion to the size of his gob - a worrying combination.

NZ are getting a big pasting than England are ...

8 down now.

The one big winner from this test series is Michael Carberry. He's just seen his test career reignited.

What's the point of sending in Stokes? We can't win this ... or even draw it. Why risk further injury to Stokes just so the defeat is quite so heavy? Terrible thinking there

Really?? I'd rather see Alex Hales given a decent chance to make it.
Bit of a one day specialist IMO. But seeing as we've got issues at 3, 5 & 6 too, I'm sure he's not having sleepless nights over his international career either.

Indeed. I'd have thought the only way he'd walk out was if we were 9 down but within 50 runs. This is madness. Much like most of our batsmen's shot selection.

Carberry or Compton. It's clearly not Moeen and if Hales isn't good enough to play on flat pitches against a friendly opening attack, he's not going to handle Steyn, Morkel and co.

Please not Compton. He is rubbish, IMO.

Discussions around the opening bat position, but what about the wicket keeping position? Is it time to go back to our best gloveman rather than worry about their batting? Who is the best pure keeper in County cricket are Read & Foster still ahead of the pack?

Our batting is deep anyway I would prefer a keeper who takes their chances and creates the odd dismissal themselves with outstanding glove work.

I've been a fan of Read for years. He's a top-class keeper, a decent bat and a spiky character who would get under opponents' skins

It's been like that forever though hasn't it, when was the last time we picked the best Keeper? James Foster > 10 years ago?

As they say catches win matches as we found to our cost dropping Hafeez and then being cheated with a decision by a 3rd umpire with a worse view than the umpire in the field.

To be fair, after seeing the reply all the commentators on TMS said Hafeez wasn't out and that it was the right decision, can't really agree that cheated is the right word there
