He is not the Bobby of the Withdean era , i think at the moment we will be lucky to see him score . He used to score a lot of goals at the far post , if he could of got there yesterday he would of got a hat full with the crosses that March was supplying in the second half

I must admit he doesn't seem overly fit, and he's been trying to get fit since he joined. Seems a bit odd.

Realistically I am not sure that he ever will this time round as he most recently didn't score that many for QPR.

What can we expect of a player of his age, probably struggling for fitness if not match fitness, and there indeed is the question.

Hope I may be wrong but sadly I am not too optimistic and hope the board were not necessarily pinning their hopes on a 'released' player who they may well feel obliged to 'start' ( or should I say 'bring on'

I was firmly in the "waste of money" camp when he was re-signed, inspite of the general euphoria on here. I just didn't see the point, or where an unfit, uninterested 30-something would fit into our plans.

Personally, I'd rather the money had been used on nurturing future talent. Imagine if we'd passed up on signing a young Bobby Zamora 16 years ago in favour of bringing Garry Nelson back from Torquay - just to keep the fans happy.

Hopefully I'll be proved wrong but I couldn't see the point in bringing Zamora back at the time and nothing I have seen since has changed my mind. The past is best left in the past.

Not sure when he'll score his first goal, but I do know that the whole mood around the club was lifted when he signed.

Absolutely this - a terrific lift. Strangely, there weren't nearly so many moaners back then. Heaven help us if we drop to second - there'll be idiots all over NSC saying, "There, told you so, knew signing Bobby Zamora would cost us our place at the top. Said so at the time (but just can't locate the actual post at the moment........!)"

For me the big question is whether we would have signed Zamora if he and the club didn't have history; and I think the answer to that is probably no. For me, therefore, not one of our better signings but I doubt whether his wages are that great and I am still hoping that his fitness levels improve. He is very, very slow at the moment.

Sydney .
I've got $50 with a mate saying he won't score 7 (League) goals.
Did have my doubts that he'd even make 7 appearances at the start of the season.
An absolutely dreadful signing - we should be looking to the future, not the past.
He's taking up valuable real estate on the team bench.

Ha ha, you're mate has had a shocker! I've got a £10 on with a mate that he scores more than 1....and I'm worried about that tenner to be honest...

Silly old bat
I was about to type this.

FFS people. How short are your memories? Zamora was instrumental in both our goals ONE game ago, and now he's a waste of wages?

We are two points clear, the only unbeaten team in the football league, and top of the table since the start of the season. The whingers and moaners have got to have something to moan about.
Short term memory loss is a big issue with fickle football fans.

It's all got a tad embarrassing IMHO. The powers-that-be obviously thought that by signing BZ on the back of a truly dreadful season, they'd at least reinvigorate the faithful, coax a few of the Withdean Five Thousand out of retrement and sell a shitload of shirts. Turns out the other summer signings were so decent that nobody was really clamouring for BZ to be given some game time, and the vast majority are too young to even sing the proper Zamora song, opting instead for the generic Seven Nation Army crap, And BZ's cameo appearances are just that. Sadly he has next to zero impact on a game. Maybe the 'never go back' brigade had a point after all. Might as well have signed Peter Ward on a one year deal in the Summer, for all the difference it's made.
