I agree, we are garbage at the moment... but we have to stick with the team!! We've seen worse times, far worse!
Millwall have a GD of -30; ours is -8. That's a 22 relative goal difference that they'd have to overturn in 2 games. Even if Midds and Watford each beat us 5-0, Millwall would have to win by 6-0 and 7-0. As such, even if Millwall had a remarkable 3 wins (against decent sides), we're still safe if we win 1 of our remaining 2 games; hence, safety is in our hands.
Lastly, we have not bombed like a lead balloon: we've barely been out of the bottom 6 since Autumn; this is a where we are now QUOTE
If Millwall win tomorrow our superior GD will mean diddly squat. as 2 more wins for them will keep them up. We need a minimum of 1 point realistically to have any chance of staying up possibly even a win will be needed.
If we end up with 46 points we will deserve to be relegated regardless of other teams and it will have been largely self inflicted. However there is very little chance of Millwall getting more than 4 points from the next 3 games
It's not just about Millwall though, Rotheram are likely to be deducted 3 points, so they would be more likely to go down than us if Millwall produce a miraculous finish to the season.Millwall have a GD of -30; ours is -8. We do have 'any chance' of staying up at the moment - realistically probably a better chance than Millwall have of getting seven points from three games. If Millwall win tomorrow our superior GD will mean diddly squat. as 2 more wins for them will keep them up. However, a month or so ago we had 40 points from 36 games, and getting a point a game, or fractionally better, for the rest of the season to guarantee safety seemed to be quite a relaxing prospect. Don't feel that relaxed now! Although I still think we'll stay up - just wish we could crawl over that bl**dy line! Come on Blackburn!

Not really because they would be 5 points behind us with a reasonably easy run in
Norwich (h)
Reading (h)
Leeds (a)
so 7 points is quite easily achievable.
How many points did Nathan Jones get when he was in charge, just can't remember whether he had two, three or four games, but I do remember us winning under him. The fact is that if we scrape survival this year it will be down to the points we got under him and not under the present manager. Its not a bitch at Hughton its just how I see it.
Certainly, based on the way we were performing up to that point. What, you expected more than a single point from Norwich H, Rotherham A, Bournemouth H, Huddersfield H,
Yes, but remember both Rotherham AND Millwall have to overtake us if we are to go down. Not really because they would be 5 points behind us with a reasonably easy run in

March - played 5, won 2, drawn 2, lost 1: 8 points from five games;
February - played 6, won 2, drawn 2, lost 2: 8 points from six games.
....and no reason at the time to believe we couldn't continue in that vein. Moon on a stick, my ****!
Presume you've been in hibernation through the winter months then.
If Millwall win tomorrow, our superior GD will mean that they still have to get 4 points from 2 games, both of which are against good opponents. Effectively, our superior GD means that it Millwall lose one of their remaining 3 games, we're safe. That is far more than diddly squat in my book.Millwall have a GD of -30; ours is -8. Rotherham's final 3 games isn't easy either.

I dont agree of the remaining games I would prefer to have Rotherhams than any others plus Derby are more likely to be in the play offs than us in The Championship so may rest any slightly doubtful players.

Derby have to get another 3 points to ensure that they're in the play offs. I'm sure that they'd rather do this this weekend than on the final day. And, if they fail to beat Millwall, it leaves the door open for Wolves, who play Millwall at home on the final day. Still think that Millwall getting 7 points is likely?I dont agree of the remaining games I would prefer to have Rotherhams than any others plus Derby are more likely to be in the play offs than us in The Championship so may rest any slightly doubtful players.
As for Rotherham, on the assumption that they'll get docked 3 points, they're 5 points (and a large GD) behind us. I know whose position I'd rather be in.
The odds are falling each match. If you want to bet do it before Millwall beat Blackburn...67/1 for Albion relegation. Should I put £10 just in case I need my season ticket money back? I don't fancy third tier football ever again.
Didn't come across that way, but OK, Pax!I was being sarcastic man! Crikey, I think after beating Ipswich, Birmingham, Leeds, Derby, Blackburn, plus some hard fought draws, there wasn't anyone who thought we'd only get 1 point from these last 5 games. I haven't been in hibernation, but your sense of humour might have been.![]()
