Amazing this, a European arrest warrant being issued when no crime had been committed, no court order in place etc, the grandmothers house was riaded by old bill, they've now got the kid in Marbella hospital and parents in Madrid, ready for extradition under child cruelty? That'll do the poor little fella the world of good, separating him from his parents in potentially his last days. ****ing wrong uns the OB, shame they didn't put same resources into the kids in Rotherham eh

I said on a different thread, if the hospital made a complaint, they had no choice but to investigate. How thry've done it, however, seem pretty appalling. The hospital apparently said they could do no more for him, then the parents had every right to seek medical help elsewhere. They seem to be knowledgable, loving parents who only want the best for him.

Given the publicity he will now probably get the best treatment available.

Appears to be very much a case of the police doing, very possibly, the right thing, but then not knowing when it's time to STOP.

The child has been found, no neglect has been proved, the care of the parents has been proved. What will be gained by their continued detention and possible extradition?

What is currently being reported shows Mr Plod in a very unfavourable light. Time to reassess and let the family get on with doing what they think best for their son. Help is what's required, not the continued use of a very heavy hand.

As a result he will get the best possible treatment but if released and the parents didnt agree with the treatment it could all start again with them taking him again. They obviously love and care for him but are somewhat misguided in their view of what is in his best interests

I suggest you read up on the treatment the UK is offering to their child compared with more advanced treatments elsewhere before judging these poor parents.

According to reports they were going to Spain to sell a property to raise the money for treatment available in Prague. Selling a property takes time so would he have lived long enough to get to Prague? Is that not misguided views? The best solution would have been leave him in hospital under medical care while they sold the property surely.

I once had a brain tumour removed. I refused to have radiotherapy when i was a teenager as I was diagnosed with cancer. I consumed cannabis as was advised by specialists and now my epilepsy is gone, I still have cancer but it looks less likely i will need radiotherapy and i'm in much better condition than was first predicted by the neurosurgeons.
Looking back, i am so glad i didn't go through radio therapy. My thoughts go out to the parents, i really hope they can deal with this.
I am completely on the side of the parents, there is definitely alternative options to radiotherapy

They were afraid that the UK authorities would obtain a "protection order", which would effectively have the state take custody of their child. That would have been quite likely too.

When this story first hit it was the police version only with 'Jehovahs witness' taking child from hospital. Now we seem to be getting the other side of it maybe it's a case of 'who do you believe'. The police seem to agree they have not broken any laws, so what next. Unfortunately, under EU laws they have to return to the UK to be charged. But who is going to bring a case against a family who have broken no laws? Given a good PR agent (where's Max Clifford, Oh yeh I remember) this family could end up heroes.

Was it not suggested the authorities were going to seek a protection/ court order as being Jehovahs Witness they were against blood transfusions etc hence they did the runner before it wss obtained.

yes, as seen from all those treatments and cures that have been found by charities. and the cancer free populations in places like Russia and China. oh, nope they dont have a cure either.

THIS - the state doesn't want parents to bring up children without enforcing how those parents bring them up. They don't want families to be bonded together too and its difficult to control a family with rights - they want everyone to be individuals - not because you can be free to be what you want (they won't allow that if it challenges their authority anyway!) but because strong families can grow into large groups with thoughts and aims that challenge the state and could possibly gain power.

Its all about control, divide and conquer

It amazes me that you have to sign a consent form for your children to have a medical or surgical procedure, so why don't you also have the right to refuse treatment, and leave the hospital?
The hospital and police have effectively accused the parents of kidnapping their own child. If the boy had been found in a state of neglect and suffering, then the police action is understandable, but he hasn't. He has been deprived of his parents love and attention whilst they are locked up. Which is the more cruel action?
