At least Forest, Leicester, QPR and possibly Reading could all easily absorb the run of injuries that we have had. Love the stadium etc, but at the moment the football is just boring. What is it, 30 goals in 28 games, it's as exciting as watching paint dry! Can you honestly say you enjoy the way we play? It's just dull.

With far greater budgets, Forest, Leicester, QPR and Reading COULD absorb these injuries - but the vast majority couldn't. From an entertainment viewpoint, I agree the football isn't very exciting. But I'm saying the injuries have played a major part in our defensive tactics and aside from splashing the cash, I don't see what else we OG could do. Seems madness to throw millions at a few fancy signings when the odds on promotion now are pretty slim. In conclusion, all clubs go through challenging times (many far worse than us) but I feel it's too early to write us off as a boring team going nowhere. If we're having this same conversation next season then I might change my mind. But not now.

I've gone for the second option but only due to selfish reasons: have had to miss a fairly high number of games this year so the season hasn't really got started for me. No problem at all with the team or the management. I've really enjoyed watching Rohan Ince, for example, and have been impressed with FA Cup prices. Should probably have taken a second to read all the options and gone for 'Other', but you live and learn...

I've been positive all season but starting to feel a bit meh. Though we're not allowed to "because the club has come so far and we should be grateful". Bollocks, we live today and right now I'm not enjoying it. There seems to be a general malaise about the club, during what is clearly a transitional season. I can't get my head around the transfer policy, it seems a bit scatter gun and too reliant on loans. I'm proud of our attendances and think this will drop dramatically next season due to bored season ticket holders.

But I think the main reason is because I miss Gus and am very jealous that Sunderland are now reaping the rewards of what we should still have! Besides his more charismatic approach than Oscar, he had a clear way of playing and every player knew their job rigidly. Under Oscar there doesn't seem to be the same unity or sense of direction among the squad. We pass the ball among the backline and then punt it forward aimlessly. I just want Oscar to smile and show some energy, and stop sending Jones out for press conferences and relying on him for player recommendations!!

Dissatisfied with the board's investment in the team since the appointment of Oscar Garcia.

In 1983 when we went to the FA cup final I was bandwagon jumper. What I did not realise at the time of said bandwagon jumping that was as good as it would get supporting the Albion. Since that day it was all pretty much down hill and one hell of a struggle (with a few ups in-between). But during that time I knew there was only one team I would support. Don't get me wrong I don't believe in looking at the past to justify future failures, and I get really annoyed for a bit after we lose a game. But going through what we did allows me to put a loss, selling our better players or losing a Manger in to perspective. The last three years have been the best it has ever been for me supporting the Albion. Do I want us to keep improving? Absolutely. But I can't be unhappy with where we are t the moment.

I'm not as old as some here (a relatively sprightly 28yrs) and while i was aware of the Albion in the 90's it wasn't until my paper round delivering the Arsegas around the time we came to the Withdean that i really started to take an interest in the Albion and fall in love with them.

So, if i take that as a yardstick then i'm rather contented. I never expected that we'd be comfortable in the championship (even after going up from L1 i never really expected us to do that well) and for teams to still say that we're one of the better teams to come to them/one of the strongest etc is still flattering.

I'm under no illusions that the team isn't as strong as we'd all like, and that there's probably a lot less cash for us than we'd like or think (obv until the financials come out everyone is guessing). Plus with teams demanding a premium for their players it is easy to be priced out of the running for a player. We've got a wealthy chairman but with us taking FFP seriously we're obviously not 'cash rich', or as rich as some would think we are.

Taking it all into consideration i would rate us at a fairly healthy 7/10. There's plenty of work to be done and there's a chance that us taking FFP seriously could blow up in our potentially naive faces. No-one knows how it'll happen. We're sitting within a couple of wins from the play-offs and we're missing out on players who, even 2 years ago we wouldn't have dreamed of being linked with.

There's lots of work ahead to go be done and I'm sure that Barber, Burke, Bloom and Oscar know what things ON the pitch aren't possibly going as well as it could be, i think it'd be doing a disservice to them to say otherwise.
If we go up this season, then that'd be awesome. If we don't, then i'd not be totally surprised and i hope we'd learn from previous mistakes and strengthen in a way that improves the team but doesn't do a Pompey.

I've no issues with people having issues or disagreements with the club, as long as they are rational and not idiotic. A bit like life - we're all able to have our own opinion, just don't express it like a prat.

I'm of the opinion that those deeply upset / miserable about the Albion at present are a very small but vocal minority. Others have suggested that this is not the case, and that more people would moan if they weren't too scare to do so (see below). Just a quick poll to see if this is the case.

I realise the poll doesn't cover all possibilities, hence the "other" option.

What a crap thread im a Brighton fan win lose or draw supporting a football club is like life ups and downs.if you don t like it do one!

Why is it a crap thread? I'm of the same opinion as you and seeking to prove that most of us are!

Frustrated, and have been since we moved to the AMEX.
We have shown glimpses of brilliance but not on a consistent basis under Poyet and Garcia.
So to know that we can be much better than we are playing is frustrating.
Frustrated that we have had some great (or potentially great) players but for one reason or another they have gone or been long term injured.
Frustrated (and angry) with the Palace play off games last season due to Poyet.
Frustrated that we are unable to sign the players we want because of FFP and they then sign for a club that does not seem to care about FFP
Frustrated that you cannot buy Doom Bar or Thatchers Gold at the AMEX.
But if you support Brighton and you are not used to it after 40 years then you never will be.

Disappointed after yesterday but I think I understand the task in hand and limitations of the squad.

Just looking at the top end ages of our players now and if we were promoted next season what their ages will be in the 2015-16 Prem season.

Olandi now 29 will be 31 pushing on 32
Upson now 34 will be 36 pushing on 37
Bruno now 33 will be 35 pushing on 36
Greer now 33 will be 35 pushing on 36
Calde now 31 will be 33 pushing on 34
Lopez now 31 will be 33 pushing on 34
Andrews now 33 will be 35 pushing on 36

Would love to see them all make it up there for sentiments sake but these are not our Prem players of the future. Even if we did get promoted this season they wouldn’t cope with the step up to the pace and strength of the Prem.

I would sacrifice a playoff place this season for an automatic next, where we are winning consistently and running away with it. To go up as Champions or runners up is the best scenario.

Nothing to stop us from having a good Cup run and a strong finish to the season though. The fat lady hasn't even got out of bed yet, let alone put on her makeup.

I would like to point out that my obsession with supporting Brighton has and never will change. The thread asks how you feel which is frustrated I am sure I am not alone, but I still feel very lucky that I became a Brighton fan all those years ago.

So I'm not allowed to support Brighton any more because I'm not happy with how things are going? Oh, ok then.

I support the team regardless, I'm just not feeling great at the moment about the dire football being served up, the lack of tactical nous being shown by the coaching staff and manager in match situations and the weakening of our squad over January. Hope that's ok with you.

Actually I guess I'm not allowed to feel that way because of the fact 'we nearly dropped out of the Football League' and we had to play at Priestfield and Withdean and therefore we should all be satisfied with being a mid-table Championship team indefinitely.

I bloody love this club, but I'm worried about the direction that we are heading in on the field. Off the field, the outlook is great, of course.

Should also add a qualification to mine that I have a four week old child at home so I'm not getting enough sleep, plus a hormonal wife, so I'm probably grumpy, which is making me "meh"!!

I've voted other because I'm content, but don't think it's a rollercoaster. But glad to see the results as they stand as looking on NSC sometimes makes you wonder about the sanity of the population of Brighton.

This is pretty much the sort of thing I was talking about when Notters got a wet bum and decided he needed to make a poll about it. At no point have I said that myself or anyone else has or should be falling out of love with the Albion, simply that some people were disappointed with the transfer window activity. But your not allowed to say such things hence we have a public vote, brilliant.

Voted other as I'm a bit fed up with football on the whole atm. To much money in the game, football is eating itself. The risk of losing is so great that it just breeds negative boring football. If a team can play 90mins of football and just get 1 shot on target and expect the fans to pay £35+ for the pleasure of watching it. Then like the dragons say "i'm out"....but I reserve the right to jump back in at any stage......and while we are at it, if 4-4-2 is such an out of date dinosaur system, then how come a lot of top clubs in Europe are starting to play it again???....One striker up front is shite and always has been,,IMO.
