I hope that Oscar picks Bridders tomorrow, if only to render him cup-tied.
I doubt it will. Being rested for a cup game isn't unusual, especially considering how he has played all the recent games over Christmas and hasn't exactly been on top form, we have fringe players who would be better served getting game time. You can read as much into bridcutt missing tomorrow's game as you can his being one of the last players off the field after Saturday's game.
Its not short term though is it? i dont know but i would imagine sunderland would pay him in the region of £20k a week thats £1,040,000 a year - two, three or a four year deal he is sorted for the rest of his life ( assuming he has a brain). He has the opportunity to play in the prem and secure his future. I know what i would do.

maybe but i am not sure that is going to bother Bridcutt too much, sunderland conceeded against Villa from a holding midfielder error - i reckon bridcutt would do a good job for them.
Was it Lee Cattermole who made the error? Lets face it Bridcutt would be a massive improvement for Sunderland, hes a better player by far.
Yep i think it was cattermole and yes i agree bridcutt would be an improvement - if the money is right i am sure he would go and i would wish the bloke well.

Absolutely this. I have been saying for some time on here that Buckley has, for me, underperformed pretty much from the day he signed for us. He has briefly shown glimpses of what he really can be capable of, but has never performed consistently. I would have been prepared to drive him north myself for an offer like that.
Maybe one of the reasons that it wasn't accepted is because we are so short of wingers at the moment, especially on the right side of the pitch. Lua Lua is a left winger, and Conway of course, should he come back, is very much left footed.

His original point was that Liam would sign for a year-deal. That's pretty short-term, and not one any footballer in Liam's position would go for.

He was directly responsible for the goal, and made a couple of other errors besides. Got subbed off at half-time, not a glowing endorsement for the captain!!
I can't imagine too many people on here that would swap Liam for Cattermole.

I could certainly understand any professional - who's career will be over in 8 years - accepting a 3-4 year contract that, if managed sensibly, should set him up for life.

Thanks for that! lol. I simply think that for a player who cost us a six figure fee when he signed or us, he has never ever really lived up to his potential. He has shown glimpses yes, but hasn't had a consistent run of good form.

Yes of course, let's see Day 1 was that minor game against Donny if I recall.
Brainless post of 2014 so far award.
Most on here slagged off Conway until his last couple of games. I would be pleased to have him back, but in terms of Premiership ready Buckley's pace, skill and finishing is different class, despite his injury problems.
