20k+ a week for Dobbie? Are some people really that thick that they believe that is what we were paying him. Hahahaha!

You are a moron. You should at least check my sources first, which come from people working at the club with close connections to the players. Your incorrect opinion < fact.

paying 20 grand a week,pmsl

People can only say what they've heard and this seems to be from multiple independent sources.

We were quoted as taking over his Swansea contract so not impossible.

Even if it was 20k a week, we spent a net amount of 250k approx on him as we made 100k on the transfer.

Won us 2 points v pboro and a point v wolves for that. Not such a disaster plus palarse are left paying him 20k a week too.

If there is any truth in this why just offer a one year contract, the guy is pure quality and I'm sure wouldn't even look at anything less than two seasons outside the Premier where he could cash in.

Maybe we can afford a 1 year deal with the option of extending it if we go up, or he can walk away for free if we don't and chase a big payday whilst being in his mid 30's. Unlikely as all this is, it would be one hell of a coup by Oscar if it did happen.

The way I see stories like this is. Would I rather play 40 games in the championship and be a real part of something,on £15k/£20k a week. Or half a dozen cup games and a handful of games in the prem and be on maybe £30k/£40k a week. It all comes down to the individual I suppose. We know most footballers are only interested in the money, but I don't believe that's the be all and end all to all of them. Especially the ones who should really be made for life already anyway. After that the most important thing is their desire to still play. If they would rather warm the bench and just keep drawing the cash, I would suggest they are not the sort of players you want within a squad anyway.

That was the standard opinion on Bridge before he came here. I think people are often too quick to accuse footballers of being happy to just pick up a wage packet.
