West Upper

You are a few blocks in front of me in G.

I love it up there. I guess you get used to your seat. I have tried the lower West and East but prefer the view (and the atmosphere) in the West.

Wouldn't be surprised if the Upper West consumed the most beer in the ground (I stand to be corrected). Everyone seems to be on it as soon as they arrive. :)

I prefer the Pina colada myself, and the canapes are to die for.

Its all good up there, enclosed concourse when the weather is shite, views out over the downs, good mix of ages, great view of the games.....and when it feels right the atmosphere kicks off nicely too.

Obviously I'm biased as thats where I sit, but from my personal preference, I love it.

Some people love to be close to the action and almost FEEL the match. They like to hear the shouts of the players etc

Personally I love watching footy from HIGH. I love to see the whole pitch and see the left back making that 30 yard run into space 5 seconds before he's picked up. I love to watch the defence as a unit and see how they move at different points.

Basically, what I'm saying is I'm a football geek so it suits me perfectly. Would love to maybe do a cup game in the North at some point just to experience that also but I know I often find watching footy from behind a goal hugely frustrating in terms of depth perception.

Boring answer. Sorry.

Tis a great place to watch the footer from but the stairs are beginning to take their toll on me.
The same for me and I do think our Mr Barber is missing a bit of a trick here by not using one of the three lifts for the say over 55's.
If he sold a season ticket at say £2 a game, with a set time for a lift up service only, could bring him in a bit of extra income over the season and help us old strugglers.

I didn't like the angle at first, used to it after a bit. My mate has a seat right at the back and says it's like watching subbuteo though.

I sit right at the back of H block and don't think it's like Subbuteo. I think its a great view and like many felt vertigo for the first few matches. Saying that tho, i think next season i will try and sit at the front of W3.

Positives: Great view of the entire pitch; protected from the weather.
Negatives: Feel far removed from the players and the action; the stairs; long time to get out at the final whistle; almost impossible to see names/numbers on our home shirts this season.

Best view of the action, and as I go primarily to watch football, it's the best place for me.

If you come in the entrance to WSU from near the away support the there is less stairs

But to get to that end you have to climb a flight of stairs outside. You can't beat physics, to rise up number of metres the WSU is above the lower plaza (by the shop) you've got to lift yourself up there somehow.

FYI - it's 103 steps at the North end, and 93 at the Southern end. I counted <sad>

I counted 127 at the North end and 97 from the South.

I had a season ticket in the North last year and loved the atmosphere. This year I have switched to Block C Row A of the WU and the view is fantastic but so far the atmosphere is nothing like as good. I'm really not sure which I prefer.

I can't decide either, so I go for the view at home games and the atmosphere away. Sorted!

You'll be fine if you just pace yourself and don't try to rush up them. You can stop for a breather just over half way up. Or you could always go in the WSU entrance nearest the South Stand. There aren't so many steps at that end.

I run up them and I'm waiting for major spinal surgery .
