Not at all. Wardy played for us against Nottingham Forest when on loan from them in 1982. Usually a Loaning club will stipulate that a player can't play against his parent club, but its not compulsory.

I thought the rules or rater loan conditions had been tightened up since Wardys days. Thinking about it didnt Jake Robinson play against his parent club Shrewsbury? season before last for Torquay, because they forgot to put the clause in the agreement..

That was because Shrewsbury forget to write it into his loan contract.

He was watching the U16's training the other evening, seemed to be enjoying himself, stayed for the whole session.
Perhaps like Upson and Bridge (if the wages had been met) and Spanish Dave, these players are enjoying being at the club. Let's face it Conway has come on the recommendations of Noone and Greer.

Or they paid a fee. Like when we signed Gary Dicker from Stockport, we paid a fee and he played on that last day win.

Never knew this. It was him that hit the shot that the keeper spilled to Forster too!

Yep, we effectively paid a transfer fee for him as he signed straight after the season ended. Stockport desperately needed the cash and we needed a top League 1 player.

It was indeed, it all worked out really well. True Poyet star.

Isnt that the rule that a player cant play against his parent club. Well not exactly a rule but in the conditions of the standard loan agreement.

Dicker played against his parent club when on loan from Stockport

I know its a disgrace when he raced across the pitch to take the ball off Le fondre's foot when we got caught short from a free kick.

You're right, a very classy interception and a very competent performance throughout his game unlike Bridge, although perhaps Wayne just had an off game for old times sake!

I can only assume you weren't at the game, after picking me up after saying that Barnes played well earlier and now claiming Ward had a good game and Bridge apparently didn't? Either that or you're ****ing blind.
Ward is a good defender but he has no idea how to attack, and slowed us down on numerous occasions today. How you can claim Bridge had an off-day.. God knows. The fact that you're a clueless dickhead is all I can deduce from this.

Strange about Ward, being that he started out as a striker. I'd almost believe it if someone said Oscar doesn't want his full backs attacking but when Calde has the most shots in a game that's clearly not the case.

Ward's an attacker by trade, mate.
Did one fantastic overlapping run which should have resulted in a goal.

Agree that Bridge looked utter class when he came on.

He looked petrified to run with the ball, and I swear he didn't beat their RB once today. Maybe we were spoiled having a player as good as Bridge last season, I don't know..

Exactly what I was thinking when I read the OP. A midfield of Bridcutt, Andrews, Agustien and Lopez will be good to watch when they're all fit and on form.

To be honest, if all our players were fit, Agustein would not get in for me.

Bridge is the best left back in the league, anyone else is going to be a trade down. Ward is solid enough and offers something in attack. He isn't the best dribbler, but that's why he plays left back and today he played it with distinction.

Andrews was excellent today. Thought he was good for his 30 minutes against Millwall and was class for 90 odd today. Quite a few occasions when we were playing out from the back in tight situations which he helped resolve. Him and Bridcutt together would be brilliant.

Agree with this. Andrews and Bridcutt could play "Petit and Vierra" roles of the old Arsenal team allowing the other players to attack at will.

Bridge scared the hell out of me when he came on for the second half. He was marauding down the wing, very self assured.

Having said that, I am more than happy with Ward.

I'd say he was a true Russell Slade star as it was his signing. Poyet was the season after

Explains why we sang "got no hair but we don't care, Russell Russell Slade" then I suppose.

If you also remember, Slade didn't play him at the start of the following season. Instead playing Matt Thornhill and a blatantly unfit Alan Navarro. Gus made Dicker the player he became.

Why another Championship club didn't pick him up is baffling. A failure by his agent, and by the scouting networks.
