Well on reflection - that's another 'hundred-odd minutes that I could've done something (ie anything) more worthwhile. Serves me right for wanting to see Pala**e getting smashed really. Manure were mostly just that, so I guess that's a small crumb of comfort (along with the self-styled 'plucky' Nigels actually losing). Bag o' shite. :glare:

Don't you mean a League 1 side with 10 men ??? I note that Palace fans didn't disagree with all the dubious penalty decisions that went in their favour last season. :lol:

If we're a League One side, what does that make yourselves out of interest?

We had a lot of penalties last season, no question. Were any of them as dubious as the two we've had against us this season? Not in a million years, I don't like footballing cliche's but it's hard to induce the two soft decisions the big clubs have been awarded against us already this season.

I'm sure you are delighted though! :ffsparr:

I think I've already nailed my colours to the mast here in this thread so I think I can say with some degree of impartiality that you are having a laugh. Some of Zaha's dives were frankly embarrassing, last season and you know it too.

The only questionable penalty he won in Palace colours was against you and that was the season before. I"m not sure he even won many last season but the ones he did were stonewall (see Watford first game for example). I'll accept the first penalty in our 3-0 win was questionable though but we could have had several other penalties against you in that game and the 2nd leg of the playoffs.

I think we'll have to agree to disagree there. I wasn't actually referring to any you got against us either.

And if you want dodgy refereeing decisions then can I point you to the one Taricco 'gave away' at Southampton a few seasons ago. It was so far out the box that I swear it was nearer the touchline at the side of the pitch. By far and away the most blatant piece of cheating by a ref I've ever seen.

I didn't realise Cameron Jerome (sp?) had joined palace.

Could be a decent signing, but he is hardly a prolific goal scorer.

I know you weren't but for what it's worth, Zaha hasn't actually won many penalties but when he has, they have been crude tackles almost every time, the only exception was against you where I accept he effectively dived despite Buckley foolishly sticking out a leg.

I actually watched that Southampton vs Brighton game and I'm inclined to agree with you, it seems if you get promoted, penalties are a HUGE reason as to why that's the case. We had plenty last season but the two in four games we've had against us already this season were hard to swallow given how soft they both were.

Questionable = Diving

Diving = Cheating

What goes around and all that :thumbsup:

Looks like you'll just have to up the anti... shouldn't be too hard for your mob

1 in 5 record for Stoke is relatively good considering their style of play under Pulis but I remain unconvinced, better than Wilbraham though (please sign him).

You can't actually be serious?! I'd say maybe 50% of yours last year were penalties. Zaha IS well known for being a diver whether you like it or not. And there was nothing at all wrong with the first pen against you this season?! It was a penalty all day long.

I think we've played well in our first 4 games, far better than our last stint in the PL which is encouraging.

Diving = Cheating, perhaps! It must be tough supporting the likes of Buckley though if that's the case.

Let's face it - every side and I mean EVERY side concedes penalties at Old Trafford. That's not a jaundiced opinion from a lifelong Man U hater, it's a fact. So your boys didn't stand a chance of not conceding. And Holloway's comments didn't help. He's a silly man because, quite rightfully, he could have claimed poor refereeing and even some bias today but he shot his load with the first game of the season. I'm heartened that Man U look pedestrian and Rooney as disinterested as ever. I'm also heartened by Palace's naivety.

50%? Wow. I'd be amazed if you'd even seen all of them given how many games we won last season, I detest watching Brighton highlights when you win!

Zaha is known on these boards as a diver yet conveniently, Buckley is not. He definitely needs to learn to stay on his feet though otherwise he'll end up like Ashley Young.

Nothing wrong with the pen against Spurs? Pretty much every pundit said it was harsh, handball of course but from 2 yards away it was slightly cruel, would you have been accepting of the decision had it happened to Brighton? I doubt it.

Not on our board. He had a reputation across the Champ. He got booked for simulation more than any other player in the FL, wasn't it? He is a known diver.

Our last 2 visits to Old Trafford in the League they've had 2 incredibly soft penalties. It might be the reality but it's bloomin' frustrating, Holloway needs to curb his comments in the future but if these decisions continue, I can see him understandably pulling out the remaining fragments of his hair in no time.

He was also the most fouled player in The Championship last season by a distance, funny that.
