Cold pie today. Waited 20 mins at half time for pie. Then finally got it, also tried for food before game, only chips on offer. Staff member didn't care less.

In summary. Sort it out, terrible. Spoke with senior steward, was that peed off, will the board listen. What a disgrace

You got a pie? None at all left in ESU half an hour before kick off. In fact, the only food they had were those inedible hot dogs that taste like plastic. Never understand why they just don't make MORE PIES.

I cannot understand having tills standing unattended when there are staff standing around more tills mean quicker service more drinks bought more money spent.

No Guinness again in WSL, when I asked I was told, it's on in the north stand by one of the catering suits, I made it clear that I am in the WSL not the bloody north stand, I made sure I was heard by a club employee, a Mr Paul Rogers, I asked why send out an email if there is not the sales facilities.
I thought I would calm myself down with a C&C pie, wrong move, it was crap, never again, I have tried the new style hot dogs, a 12p sausage in a dry stale roll, I have tried the cremated burger in a stale roll, now the rock hard pie, so hot it is impossible to eat, even with a fork, a pint of cider that was at least palatable, at the last game I tried the wine, would have been okay had it not been kept on top of the hot plates, it was rather warm to say the least. I suppose I shall have to give the catering a miss at the Amex in future, shame but there it is.
This is not a case of not giving someone a chance but there is only so much one can take

Agreed, no pies whatsoever in ESU at 2.30 pm and whilst I do understand that is nothing to do with the supplier ( PP ), someone needs to take responsibility for this recurring failure. Anyone with an ounce of common sense should realise that a sufficient number of pies should be organised, that is sufficient not only for pre match but also half time and post match. Someone needs a kick up the backside !

No pies so I opt for a cheeseburger - total rubbish hence never again !

I was caught myself wanting food that was unavailable in the ESU at 2:30 but how can it be a recurring failure, that's the first time this season they have been open and they did get more stocks before kick off and at half time.

I said that on the basis of numerous posts on NSC, prior to this, and which referred to the non availability of pies. Today was the first such time for me after two years of the Amex

"Recurring failure" quote:
I think Ferring mean't that this happened last season and the season before. This "recurring failure" is why many choose to drink and eat elsewhere before the game. Unfortunately we have to get our beverage and pies at the ground at half time. What is so hard (after two full seasons) calculating that you need to have enough kiosks, staff, pints previously poured say 5 mins prior to half time, a steady supply of pies READY etc.
The club are after making money, but seem hell bent on missing out on a handy windfall at half time.

But it's a new company so they need a little while to get it right surely

NO Martyn, NO IT IS NOT A NEW F@CKING COMPANY.

It specialises in stadium catering, it is NOT a new company. Please stop defending everything about the bloody catering when it is indefensible.

It's a new company in the Upper East concourse. I got up there at 14:25 and I have never seen queues up there so long, everyone wanted food at the same time, I don't think many had arrived early for sure. As we got closer the food just disappeared off the heaters, Dad and I got the last steak and ale and last veg, I wanted 2 burgers. 25 minutes later people were again passing us with pies and burgers, they got the estimates wrong and had the correct food up there but not at the correct time. After the game there were loads of everything again.
I doubt that will happen up there again they clearly lost out on money so I am willing to give them a little time to get it right. I am not kidding the queues were right across the concourse, everyone wanted food at the same time.

Sounds like this was your first Albion match. Queues in ESU were no different to last season. Of course everyone wants food at the same time...they are all attending a football match that kicks of at 3pm...

I know what your saying Martyn, but wev'e been down this road before, surely by now a bit of research should have been done. If it was the first game at the Amex (similar to today's shambles btw) then i would understand. Research must have been done.
I was at two of the recent games with the new caterers, about 8-10,000 supporters, they struggled then. They had 3 games to gauge and prepare.
So 3 games, they know how many ST's there are.....they have a good idea of the expected crowd, they would probably have enquired the amount of pies and pints normally needed from the TWO previous seasons, the groundwork and information was all there for them.
I'm in the NS, so can not speak for the other concourses, but how about this...........Not everybody wants a Pie and a Pint, so have more of those mobile Harvey's and Lager points........in fact have one's just for Harvey's and some for Lager.......with a few with both for people who buy a few of each.
Plenty of room for these mobile drink stations, wheel em in and wheel em out. Leaving the Pie and Pint kiosks free running.
For many who work all week, this is our day out, our escape.....if you went somewhere regularly and had to queue and then did not get served, too late, or missed part of the event or occasion, you would not go back. Of course we come back..don't we? :amex:.
Oh and by the way, seeing as it is the NS, and i felt frustrated and could not get a H/T pint...is probably why i swore a few times......and most likely upset a few that really should not be in the NS if it upsets them

Good grief Martyn, that's like saying a newly opened McDonalds on the M4 is a new company.

These jokers are supposed to be specialists at stadium catering, and as for giving them time, I can only assume you haven't been a regular at The Amex because every one of the previous incumbents have been as bad.

Today I went to The Swan for the first time before the game when the rest of my lot went to the stadium, I was the only one who was happy about beer and food.
