Charlie Oatway testimonial match cancelled

OK - I'll expand - I would trust Charlie ( who has given blood and guts on the football field ) far more than ANY owner / manager of BHA. It's a drip drip effect of bad news at the moment and yet the Bloom and Barber worshipers don't see anything wrong. There is something rotten at OUR club currently and my worry is it might take us back to the Archer days !

I agree, I've always suspected that Bloom only spent 100 million quid on the stadium and developing the station so he could knock it down and build a Toys R Us.

FFS.

You have completely and utterly lost the plot. In fact if your last couple of posts are anything to go by, I'm not sure you ever actually had it in the first place.

Westdene, take a couple of paracetamols and go and lie down for a bit.
Hopefully a more rational Westdene may emerge after a short rest.

Happy to take the critical posts painting me as mad as a box of frogs but mark my words, Tony Bloom isn't the saviour many people paint him to be.

I don't get what is going on anymore.

Wind the clock back a month or so and everyone would have said what a loyal servant Charlie had been, best guy ever, now this and people are ready to lynch him. Doesn't that seem a little odd to anybody else?

And also isn't cancelling his well earned testimonial pre judging the outcome of the suspension?

This all just seems very wrong to me.

Not pre judging if the outcome has been reached formally, but not released to the masses.

As often the case you are in a minority of one!

Regardless of whether Oatway has served the club well or not, he is still being paid. If in gross misconduct & becomes dismissed how would you feel as a paying customer of the club to give him a pay day?

Whatever the rights or wrongs of Oatway's suspension - a debate not suitable for NSC at the moment - the fact is the club DID decide to go down this route and so probably had no real choice but to pull the plug on this match for the time being.

I think it was scheduled for the second week in July (may be wrong) which would be cutting it fine to organise and market even if the suspension ended soon and all was well. I think most fans had sort of expected this news considering all that is going on.

As I said, nothing to stop a suitable testimonial match being organised once everything is sorted out if Oatway is cleared etc.

Did he have anything to do with Spanish Dave coming in?

Brighton factually.....
Please, do expand.

Hillian1 maybe Westdene Seagull has classified information from wiki leaks regarding the Evil Mr Bloom and his plan to take the Albion to the brink of the Premiership while funding the stadium and new training ground only to reveal that it was his master plan to employ a manager who would lose to his boyhood club in the play offs as he was born Holmesdale Road, South Norwood and he plans to now unveil a merger with Crystal Palace and sell the Amex to Toys R US and build a super stadium in Horsham....

Could we just give the testimonial to Perry Digweed instead? He PLAYED for us for ten years and never received a benefit match.

And Poyet is, pmsl.....Think I know where I will keep my faith. In the man that puts his money where his mouth is. Not the one who puts money above all else and needs loads of it.
