You're a sensitive bunch, aren't you? If Mourinho had said the same towards Man Utd you'd find it amusing, it's only mind games.

The guard of honour, of lack of it was classless though but given how you were already champions, who's gives a rats arse?

We were asked why we don't like him. The guard of honour is why, for me (amongst other petty stuff). His refusal to do it is VERY rare in recent times, It spoke volumes about the man.

I think its fair to criticise his character, but not his managerial ability. Any manager who gains consecutive promotions, as well as minor stability in the Premier League, irrespective of budget or club stature, should receive great plaudits. I'm sure if there wasn't previous between Adkins and Brighton, a fair amount of yourselves would like him as a replacement for Poyet, if he goes.

And how many times as he come in for our players? He seemed to think that we were are just a little club that will let a big club have them on the cheap.

I'd take him tomorrow but that does not mean I have to like him does it

Most people seem more antagonised by his "If they can keep up with us" comments from what I can see. You'd think with all the ridiculous rules in place that something so simple like a 'Guard of Honour' would be mandatory.

Point being that when Adkins made his 'if they can keep with us' comment, we were six points ahead of them and top of the table.

True but it seems to have added an edge to the game and they beat us by being a stronger more physical side. I don't buy the "we took our foot off the pedal" given the animosity that season. They needed to win the game and you would have thought it might have backfired on him but as it happens it probably helped them. Gus is not the classiest guy when things go against him but we all loved him. I guess Adkins needs to be your manager if you are going to take to him. Same with Gus.

To suggest Adkins is not a decent manager is pretty blinkered imo, not that you are saying that I might add.

The 'keep up' comments betrayed an arrogance, but COULD have been a joke. COULD.

Refusing the guard of honour smacked of bitterness and lack of grace. And no, there should never be a rule to make it mandatory. The whole point is that teams should freely CHOOSE to show respect to their victorious opponents. If they were only doing it because they had to it would be meaningless.

Although he's a bit of a knob jockey, I think he's a pretty good manager and Reading should be favourites next season. Even more so now they've poached Bridgey off us

To claim it helped them win the game is rubbish. We were 1-0 up and in control when Davis took out Murray, for what should have been the match sealing penalty. The ref turned it down, Murray limped off injured, and they stole the game in the last ten minutes.

Can't disagree with anything you have said here. His record for getting teams out of divisions is very good, it will be put to the test to see if he can get a team to bounce straight back up, with history proving it doesn't regularly happen. NA does come across extremely smug, but when he is with your team, you put up with it (Suarez etc).

I can understand why you dislike him, it seems like he wants to be the 'winner' all the time and if he isn't, he doesn't want to know about it.

Very accurate.

Brighton lose or draw a game they have been in control of in the last ten minutes. Not that unusual under Poyet was it? I wasn't there tbh but I listened on the radio and it certainly sounded like we got steamrollered in the end. I won't argue the point though as I didn't see it with my own eyes.

when you have two teams of similar ability, one NEEDING to win and one not needing to win, i'd say almost 90% of the time the team needing to win will win
