I had an elephant in my fridge last week.
How could I tell ?
Footprints in the butter.

Surely you must know by now that keeping Currant Buns in the fridge is only going to attract them ?

Poachers testicles cure cancer. Pass it on..
 just tell the Chinese, their lives will be worth less than a truck load of dead rats in a tampon factory.

Whaling never actually caused one Whale species to become extinct. Nor have Whale numbers been decreasing due to any farming still going on. In fact it's the opposite. Whale numbers are increasing yearly through all species.

Given only 1-2 nations farm a few whales the over reaction to this is mind boggling.

A conservative estimate of Minke Whale numbers is over 500,000 in the oceans of the world. Japan probably kills between 500-1000 Minke of which numbers makes up the majority of their captures.

That's not even close to 1% of all Minke Whale numbers.

But no, there's no over reaction happening at all.

Do you hate Dolphins as well?

The amount of Rhinos poached in SA has gone up dramatically in the last 3 years or so. Sadly, some of the arrests I have seen are from owners of Game farms and the most high profile prosecution was from a guy from Malaysia. Over 200 Rhinos have been poached already this year.

Killing Minke Whales in reasonable numbers will not have the impact you suggest.

Who said what you stated? Some biased party? You can get anyone to say anything for the right amount of $ and there's plenty of whale propaganda paid for by various organisations.

Whales aren't some sacred beast, they are a resource like any other animal can be if managed properly.

Animals are not a resource.

When I was in Africa I once got up before dawn and shot an elephant in my pyjamas.....

What he was wearing my pyjamas for, god only knows.

Thank Christ your apparent selfishness & lack of empathy doesn't represent humanity as a whole, but I suppose the tragedy is that it does indicate the views of so many.

I'm with you on this for what its worth. Animals are not a resource and if his attitude was one that was shared by many the planet would have no animals as they are all a 'resource', not another living creature. Pure self minded up own arse hole attitude

So you've never bought meat that was produced by a farmer who has made his living by using animals as a food resource?

You're indignation is hilarious.

How did a thread about poaching of Rhinos morph into a farming thread?

Not that I see why that point is relevant to this but I'm actually a vegetarian but I have no problem with people eating meat (As long as its not 'factory line' produced meat, ie giving the animals no life at all) its just my personal preference, my issue with you is that you are saying just because things don't effect you, you don't care, can you not see why this sort of attitude is pretty shocking?

Humanity has nothing to do with eating animals. It's down to what you think is cute or adorable.

Cow, Whale, Chicken it's all the same process by the time it ends up on a plate.

Do you cry inside too when a rat has its spine broken in a trap and its left struggling for life foe a few hours?

Going by your reasoning for what is acceptable to eat meat from a Whale most definitely is given its had a free life up until then. You Agree?

Tell em why exactly I should give a shit if a few Dolphins die? More raats and Mice die every day. Are you suggesting we should care about their deaths too?

They are a resource yes. However like most resources you need to manage them to get the most benefit from them.

They have been poorly managed.

A resource for what exactly? Please don't say some age old Chinese medicinal powder bullshit..
