Would only change Crofts for Buckley or Lua Lua depending on which one is fit. Buckley preferably if both fit.

No more midweek games between now and play-offs will help everyone, so Ulloa has to start. Get 3 points on Saturday and then we can look at resting people depending upon other results.

Vicente and Lua Lua on bench if needed. Barnes to come on if we are 3-0 up.

? Barring the goal he was poor.
He wasn't great, but barring the goal he did put one on a plate for Ulloa, which went just wide. He looked as likely to setup a goal, or score a goal, as anyone else, and in the end he both scored and created our best chance. Not to be sniffed at.

The only player we had that looked like scoring that day.

He didn't really look like scoring before his goal. He was far, far more wasteful than any other BHA player. One thing I do like about him is his willingness to shoot from distance, unfortunately most times it ends up in Row Z.

To be fair though probably had the ball far more than any other BHA player, so surely he has a higher chance of creating something? It's only that he is frustratingly wasteful.

It is frustrating that his final ball has been a let down 3 times out of 4, but when the opposition is proving difficult to break down (particularly when they're all behind the ball) the whole team give him the ball, as at least they know he'll probably get passed his man and get something into the box. If he's got the ball more than any other BHA player, perhaps that's a sign they think he's the right man for the job.

I do think there us a chance he may start(sadly)..... but it wont be for football reasons, its because he is Gus's love child.
Just bagged myself a ticket on the strength of your post. Can't wait to give Barnsey a great big cheer.

I think you have to opt for KLL and Buckley if they are both fit. I wouldn't give BFC any chance to settle from the KO what so ever. Granted too that some players may be in need of a rest, but I can't believe that any of our lads won't be desperate to make the starting 11. Given 3 points on Saturday, the trip to dirty Leeds (assuming no more new injuries or red cards?!) offers Gus the opportunity to pick a battling side that has plenty of backbone! Bring it on!

Or perhaps - as I have definitely seen in some games - the opposition are happy for the ball to be funnelled out to the left, safe in the knowledge that LuaLua won't use it effectively?

Seriously? I'm obviously referring to the post I've quoted suggesting Leo is rested for the home game against Blackpool because he needs to be fit for our remaining away games (sic). Surely the facepalm makes it clear that I think that's idiotic, eh?? Actually, have one as well:

We'll see come Saturday - I wouldn't be at all surprised to see Ulloa on the bench. Leeds away may well be a crucial game for us.

Those facepalms really hurt by the way. Ouch

Personally think we should start with ulloa on saturday and go all out for the win. Barnes on the bench to cover ulloa if we get in strong position. A win here gives us the option to go to leeds and play our most physical type team with barnes for ulloa and crofts, hammond bridcutt etc. 3 points sat followed by a draw at leeds would be just what the doctor ordered.

Do enjoy all these moronic posts about Barnes. It wasn't long ago even the biggest doubters were admitting he was having a great run of form after being left out. He's not a world beater, and obviously he needs to sort out his temper but having him back in the squad for the last 3 games is a massive help (We have had 1 fit striker incase people hadn't noticed). Literally anyone who can't appreciate that does not have a clue.

Away match when we did not do very well:

BBC Sport - Blackpool 1-1 Brighton

We caught Blackpool on a good day and Matt Philips played well. In the following match was on TV and Blackpool played awful away.

For me it is Buckley or Lualua to start in a 4-3-3. We still can't seem to get a midfielder up to support Ulloa though. Orlandi or Vicente (playing like Gerrard) could operate further forward in a 4-4-2 Capello-style (nearly 4-3-3) which means Buckley on the right. Bridge then overlaps on the left. Capello style tactics have been accused of not being attacking enough. I still think, on balance, he is the best tactician.

Kuszczak
Bruno (or Calderon) El-Abd Upson Bridge
Buckley Lopez Bridcutt Hammond
Vicente (or Orlandi)
Ulloa

Back five are a shoe in, as are Bridcutt, Spanish Dave and Ulloa.

At least two from Hammond, Crofts and Orlandi.

That leaves one of Buckers or KLL, or possibly the enigmatic physio couch magnet that is Vicente as a long shot.

The fact that Gus preferred a one legged Ulloa for the last 20 minutes on Tuesday instead of Barker suggest that he thinks Barker is too lightweight, so I would expect Barnes to replace him on the bench.

Possibly because Ulloa has been left very isolated in the past few games, hence why he hasn't scored as many (in my opinion).

Eh!? Are you saying Ulloa only tends to score when Barnes plays? If so, I disagree.
