I didn't know it was going on did, as fan i don't have the books to the club do i. I don't know the owners. Do you actually know yours personally? Really, keep on, picking this shit is embarrassin, it really is.

So all of the gloating over the years about our club living within its means while your lot screwed its creditors twice in short succession is shit is it? You tossers come on here regularly reminding us that you have been in the top two divisions for 35 years but not one of you acknowledge the fact that you maintained that level of football by screwing local businesses, local charities and other creditors. Not once but twice. Don't think you have the moral high ground because you currently are in first place because you f***ing don't have any morals. If you don't like being reminded of your club's financial wrong doings that kept you above us all of those years you can always f*** off from here.

Its a pity for Palace, they do have a fine manager, good young team and a loyal fan base. But they are subsidised entity by others losses, any club who does this will be forever tainted. Palace are not unique but should they prosper expect more threads like this one in future..

Just 2 years ago Palace went down owing £30 million, owing to St. Johns Ambulance, the Police, HMRC and numerous small businesses, with creditors getting 2p in the pound. Now they could be in the Premier next season, with a one prized asset that could be worth £20 million.

This is all so wrong, failure is being rewarded and you and I are paying for it. When will the football league wake up and realise 10 pts deduction isn't enough? League 2 for anyone in administration for me should be a minimum requirement.

Sorry this is another Palace thread. But their administration is recent and but their recent rise just demonsrates how morally wrong things are in English football

42 clubs have been in administration, that would make the League 2 fixture list very congested!

42 - really? Says it all, the game is desperate for tougher rules, sensible player wages and more responsible owners..

I wpuldn't mind seeing a law that prohibits teams from gaining promotion for up to three years after going into Administration. That'd stop all this bullshit.

There used to be banter on here but it's turned into a hate fest.
.

That because many of us do HATE your scabby little club......and i hate Portsmouth for the way they spent money they did not have and won the F.A Cup with it. Just as if Palace win Promotion, there still will be creditors out there suffering because your club owed them money. Its not just you, Pompey but a hatful of other clubs that show how football and a business should NOT be run. We just keep on about Palace because of the rivalry and to see you doing so well really sticks in our throats.

Stop the 10 point deduction which is minimal and make sure that every team who goes into administration and doesn't pay their debts in full, have to be relegated to the Conference and then fight their way back. Some teams like Plymouth and Swindon have done it the hard way but teams like Pompey and Palace just take the mickey.

The Albion would have been in administration too had it not been for Tony Bloom, and we also have had informal arrangements with creditors in which we have paid them a percentage of the sums due.

People in glass houses etc.....

The difference is that we knew there was light at the end of the tunnel when we got the planning permission for the stadium.

This is not a hate fest. There are many things discussed here that are morally wrong, yet legal..

This,

And if I've read it correctly, we would not have gone into admin in 1997, the rules were much different then, we would have just ceased to be.

That may be so EP....but you have to wonder what the penalties would have been in our case. It all seems a little cloudy in the rules as to who gets what when they face administration. Teams who seem to go under with smaller debts..ie Bournmouth, Swindon, Plymouth get hammered hard while Palace, Pompey (to name just two) who owed millions....(.yes millions over 130 million in Portsmouth case) get away lightly.

.... and started again from scratch as per Aldershot, Newport, Accrington, etc which would have been the right and proper thing to do. Now you can simply swap X million pounds of debt for ten league points and carry on as if nothing had happened.

The rules are now set out by the Football League. Some teams, such as Leeds United, cynically exploit them.

More the truth? EP? Would you bunch Palace, Pompey with Leeds? Just a question from your average supporter who see some clubs get hammered while others do not!

We paid a massive price for those financial hardships. You might remember us losing our home, being exiled for 2 years then Withdean for another 12 years. Have Palace come close to anything like that? No-it's been business as usual for them.

THAT is why it riles so many of us when your Palace chums come on here gloating about 35 years never outside of the top 2 divisions-whilst never mentioning all of the companies they screwed during their 'magnificent run'.

Yes, we had financial problems but we paid the price by almost going out of existence, being close to dropping out of the Football League and playing at a shithole that saw us lose any talent we managed to develop. Compare that to Palace's situation: unscathed by two administrations, academy unaffected, local businesses however were ruined-not to mention all of their unpaid taxes. Hardly a cause for gloating by Palace trolls is it?

Spot on. Nothing more to be added.
