Time to reel out this little beaut again...

f***ing hell, shut. Up. You are so boring there are no words capable of summarising the levels of tedium you create. We get it. You support palace. Everything is well and good and brilliant. You have the best keeper and the best full backs and the best centre backs, the best striker, the best midfielders, the best player in the f***ing world. Messi is a jumped up little pretender to almighty winifred's rightful crown of best player evertm. Your chairman only ever speaks the truth, your coaching staff are better than any in the prem, you're going to get promoted and then win the premier league and then the champions league and then the f***ing world cup. Your stadium is going to be made into a 70000 seater theatre of worship to the greatest club ever where the best and most loyal fans can beat the best drum and happy clap to the best goal music and wank over the best f***ing eagle the world has ever seen. The crystals definitely don't have chlamydia. And most of all will buckley is three years older then zaha. Thanks for keeping our feet on the ground. Now you've educated us, can you just f*** off, and wherever you get to, f*** off from there too, and keep f***ing off told you're the best at f***ing off in the whole world and you can fit in with all the other record breaking pondlife at your fetid, diseased, embarrassing cesspit of a 'club'. Prick.

May I be the first to say...THIS!

Rubbish. How the f*** do you think you can tell a Palace fan who their best player is? I was there as well, and Zaha WAS the best player on the pitch as well as being our best player. Assisted Ambrose's goal, won the free kick for Murray to score the winner, and rightly got all the headlines.

I'm not telling you who your best player is. I'm telling you who your best players were THAT night. They were Clyne and Murray.

Assisted Ambroses goal? You bell-end. Ambrose picked it up 40 yards out, and belted it in the top corner. What assist? It was a sensational strike, and rightly 'got the headlines'.

Re: Zaha : "only Messi & Ronaldo are better than me"

Neymar, Hazard, Pato, Oscar, Agdestein.

Zaha needs to do his research if he thinks he is better than this crop. Neymar especially looks a little bit handy. And that is before you start talking Barcelona and their youth team players coming of age.

Stupid claim from Zaha, wouldn't care if he picked Ivory Coast over England.

An assist is when you pass the ball to a player who then scores a goal. HTH.

Every week we get told by opposition fans and managers that Zaha is the best player they have ever seen at this level, and that we're the best team they've played this season. Ipswich, Leicester and P'Boro in the last few weeks. Have these teams not played Brighton yet? Have none of them faced the incredible Will Buckley?

P'Boro have, and Ferguson wasn't impressed. He said that their fullback, Little, had a tough time against "one of the better wingers in the division, Will Buckley" but that "he doesn't even compare to Zaha. He's the best player in the league by a country mile and will go to the very top".

As a Palace fan I'm a bit embarrased by this interview. It is the Daliy Mail so the lad has probably been mis-quoted slightly. Maybe he was saying that he's ambitious and looks up to the likes of Messi, Ronaldo. Dunno.

Someone else had it right when they said he's up there to be knocked down - I'd much rather he was under the radar. The only plus side is that we will get more money for him when he goes.

How good is he? Very good. I've seen him a couple of times only this year - Burnley and Pboro - but he's singled-handedly pulled up back into games. He's that direct and powerful that he reminds me of Ian Wright in the 1985-89 period, winning us games we should lose.

I think we'll get more than £4m now.

to me that quote sounds more like him praising Ronaldo/Messi, whilst also being confident about himself.

The whole "he is really amazing ... by the way he's absolutely not for sale" line given to journalists is such an obvious negotiation tactic that it's annoying, and maybe it is all hype (since most of the rumours are totally unsubstantiated), but it doesn't mean (a) we should take everything out of context just to have a dig at a young England player simply because he plays for a rival and (b) we should dedicate a new thread to him every single day.

Sterling is not better.
...
Sorry, I've been sticking up for Zaha on this thread, but given the respective 'strength of schedule' of Liverpool and Palace how on EARTH do you come to that conclusion? If that isn't an example of someone just being blinded and having their opinions warped by pure hero-worship I don't know what is.

Don't forget Zaha rolled a 2 yard pass to him in the centre circle though.

After nutmegging Ryan Giggs with his eyes closed, whilst juggling four tangerines, and whistling the theme tune to Hill Street Blues. Backwards.

In fairness, the article in the Mail is written by Neil Ashton - a Palace fan.

Doesn't make it obvious does he. Much.

You will undoubtedly get more than £4m for him now. Whatever we think of him Zaha clearly has a high market value now and it is up to your board to make sure they do not screw up the sale and miss out on the clearly much needed cash.

this is how i see the situation...

Hollaway talking up his ability = talking up his price

Hollaway has been promised he can spend the transfer money (£5M £10M £20M) on his choice of players

Picked for Engalnd as Zara is in a tug of love with Ivory Coast

Palarse happy he is picked for England as that means the price tag is talked up

Ivory coast for zara would mean absence for Africa cup of nations and so less valuable for Prem clubs

Zara has stated that he is 50/50 for england and ivory coast so edging his bets (the reason i liked Tiss, Le saux & Hargreaves as international despite thier ability is that when given the choice they all picked England - Jersery boys could pick all home nations & France)

Zara will go to Arsenal as a replacment for walcott

zzzzzz.

Since you asked, last time we played the corresponding fixture (Peterborough away), Buckley scored both goals in a 2-1 win, including a 35 yard free kick.

Re: Zaha : "only Messi & Ronaldo are better than me"

Zaha is a very talented footballer. No wonder he is a bit arrogant. I imagine it makes him a better player. For a player who relies on confidence its important he has the self belief.
Buckley is not better. I would argue that Buckley is more effective but not more talented. Palace are lucky that's all.

Way to early for England. I think he needs another full season of first team football at palace before he moves on. That will give him more match intelligence.

Having seen them both play, Zaha obviously more so than Sterling, Zaha is currently the better player. Obviously both of them will continue to improve massively and Sterling may become a better player, but at the moment he isn't.

Not seen much of zaha so hard for me to comment on him too much but his assists and goals stats in c'ship don't scream 'ready for england'

Stan Collymore ‏@StanCollymore
Whoever Zaha's agent is has done the lad no favours letting him talk about Messi/Ronaldo. Unnecessary hype and spotlight. Let him play.
Classic case of agent allowing price to be bumped up. Just want the lad to play unhindered, and agents rarely think about that.
The bar is set now ridiculously high for a lad who's not played in the top flight yet. Irresponsible to let him do interviews before >
>he's done anything to justify the hype. It's called protecting a young talent. Lad has been thrown to the wolves now to pick over.
Giggs, Rooney. Fergie let them say jack shit, and warned their agents(I know) of talking young. They haven't done too bad since.
If agents don't want young clients to run their mouths of,and be misquoted, advise them not to talk.

And yet Ferguson thinks that Zaha is "far better".

I particularly like Wilfrieds approach: "Gus Poyet said that Will Buckley is better than me. I don't see the point in nonsense like that."

Not too sure what the issue is, would be nice to have a england team who think like this instead of the team of players we have currently.
