Badgers carry TB - fact
Badgers transmit TB to cattle - fact
If the number of badgers increase (which it is, as they have no natural predator), then TB will be transmitted to more cattle - logical conclusion.

TEN YEARS a panel studied to see if that conclusion was in fact logical. They found it wasn't that simple, and that the cull wouldn't help.

How foolish they are, if you can prove otherwise in three sentences.

Animals have the right to live just like Humans. if we're going to mass killing Badgers because they pass on deceases then why don't we kill people with HIV-AIDES as well?

Radical but I believe Animals have some rights. I mean it is not their choice they have to inhabit this earth with the biggest scourge of the planet, ie human beings but they have no say in the matter do they ? Just some random and weak " evidence " will destroy 1/3 of their entire population. It is a f***ed up World for sure.

I'm a farmer.

I dont have a opinion on the subject but do take offence at anyone suggesting all farmers are happy to kill anything to enhance their bank balance. That is plain idiocy. Some people would be best placed keeping their thoughts to themselves when all they can come with is stupid comments like that

The way I see it is the Farmer's don't give a Rat's Arse for any creature within their Farm that does not actually earn them any money and would slaughter anything that moves without a care or a regret as they are ruthless bastards and it is all about the £ in their bank account at the end of the month.

That's not all. They make pigs smoke. They feed beef burgers to swans. They have big sheds, but nobody's allowed in. In these sheds they have 20ft high chickens, and these chickens are scared because the don't know why they're so big, and they're going, "Oh why am I so massive?"

The mindset of a farmer is , is it it not helping my farm and I have no use for it, kill it. Come on that is the case. Farmers I would say have no qualms about killing an animal if they thought it would serve their purpose.

Don't know what you know about farming but I'm sure there must be a simple Janet and john style book published that will help.

Instead of the lazy condascending perhaps you could inform us all of the daily life of a farmer and more to the point give some real evidence this cull is justified , something no single person has managed to do so far.

Total rubbish farmers will kill animals to protect their crops as they have done for the last 1000 years

I respect your opinion U S as we are all entitled to one , not that you would think so when you read some of the bullying posts on here. But i don`t hear many people complaining about the tens of thousands of foxes stoats and weasels culled every year to prevent them killing gamebirds, which have been bread to be shot in vast numbers by the idle rich.Neither does anyone complain about the hundreds of thousands of rabbits and pigeons culled each year to protect crops.
These culls are necesary because of all of us and our children, there are too many of us on this planet eventualy we will be the only species left , depressing thought isnt it

Not often that you don`t reply to a post U S but you did not reply to this one

Sorry but who being condescending? Youre the idiot stating things about all farmers that frankly you can't comment about until you remove your head from your arse.

As far as culling badgers I don't have an opinion on it because I don't have cows and haven't read any papers on the subject.

That really is just about the most ignorant thing you've ever written on NSC and there's been some absolute corkers. I don't think you have the first clue as to what happens on a farm, the hours worked, the dangers lurking, the precariousness of the UK farming industry or the stresses that it brings. I'm with Piltdown Man, I think a child has a better grasp of the realities than you on this matter.

Farmers have been culling badgers for years. There is a simple and efficient way of killing badgers using a couple of items, combined, that you can buy in any supermarket placed close to a sett (i won't disclose more details than that). The bodies are then dumped on the side of the road to look like roadkill. It's happened for years and will continue to happen should the cull not go ahead. Personally i think that the cull is quicker though i'm not convinced that either approach will solve the problem.

What have you offered of any substance ? You have given no incite into the debate at all , other to say you are a Farmer.

I was married to a farmer's daughter and was often on the farm where I saw what it was like and quite often helped out. I also did their accounts as well as accounts of numerous Sussex farmers when I was in practice and still keep in touch with a few socially. Admittedly, it's not much but there you go. How about you?
