When I say source at Millwall, I have a few friends who live up there and seem to be ITK, I don't know how accurate they are do I, this is the first time I've heard anything Brighton related from them except the Vincelot thing which they claimed was bullshit.

Mattock was solid but a one trick pony when going forward. He would always cut in onto his right foot. Sorry we couldn't get him though nonetheless.

Argus online this morning - Mattock joins Wednesday on a 3 year deal. Sitch, rather than present yourself as a guy in the know with sources, perhaps better to be a a bit more careful with your words otherwise you are going to have a lot more strops. It's always fun to see the rumours but, like I offended you before, you only seem to post what's in the public domain or something that doesn't happen. This thread is a good example. 14 pages of thread because people thought you were in the know and that Mattock would sign. A lot of people on here wanted Mattock to sign, hence are disappointed he hasn't and with you for presenting it as fact. Obviously 'another player in talks' is meaningless, so doesn't irritate. But if you are a bit more careful with your words, maybe you won't get so much flak.
As an aside, I also liked Mattock, but not sure an overlapping left back is best for a style when we have such good wingers on the left and we'd rather they were farthest forward than a defender. Perhaps a more solid left back, a stronger version of Painter, would be better for us anyway.

Can you name a better left sided trio performance than Mattock, Lua Lua & Vicente versus Derby EVER. I've seen 900 & I cannot
We should have made Mattock an offer he could not refuse. I happen to think that he was very important to us. Maybe Gus will find someone better but I rather doubt it. Grant Hall might have been an option but having left it so late to offer one of our most promising players a new contract it would now seem that he is off to Spurs. A little foresight might sometimes be useful.
