Two things spring to mind here.

1. We would not have taken 6,000 to Selhurst on a Tuesday night and I doubt we would have taken 9,000 on a Saturday.

2. If Palace are doing all they can to make it easier for more fans, particularly young ones who live in a fairly poor area, to be able to afford to go to football then good on them. That is a GOOD thing.

Re 1 Incorrect x2
If palpably incorrect thoughts often 'spring to your mind' why do you continue to voice them?

absolute rubbish, please explain ?

Brighton don't like Palace.

Palace don't like Brighton.

5000 BHA at Selhurst on a Tuesday night= Big Police expenditure and possibility of large scale violence.

2000 BHA at Selhurst on a Tuesday night= Not so big Police expenditure and lesser possibility of large scale violence.

Surprised you haven't jumped in with some far fetched memory of the Albion turning over the Goldstone or Withdean to opposing supporters. Go on have a little think.

We turned over the whole of the East stand to Chelsea in 1983/4, the previous night lives long in the memory for anyone who ever had a stroll down West Street.

If it meant promotion to the premiership, then yes we would definitely sell 9k on a Saturday or midweek !

If that was the year they invaded the pitch, beat the crap out of those 2 OB and snapped the crossbars they didn't technically have the whole of the east as I think the South end was closed by then. They did, however take over the North stand and I'm pretty sure they had the West (Mecanno) stand aswell.
Thankfully I didn't venture into town the night before but heard it was very nasty, the day of the game was bad enough!!

It was also the game where Chris Hutchins was on the bench for Chelsea and geeing up their fans. You were very wise to avoid town the night before.
