Went to Mange Tout on Trafalgar Street on Saturday. Food is wonderful, staff friendly, prices reasonable, nice relaxed atmosphere. Some classic French dishes eg Moules and Steak Frites but really it's all about the specials board. All you have to resist is the temptation to say "Mange Tout, Mange Tout" in a Del Boy voice. 9/10

I've not heard a single good thing about this place.

Walked past the Havana Spoon the other day. Presumably they think the curtains/netting which means you can't see inside makes it feel exclusive or something.

I suspect it means most people will just not go in. I don't think it will be there for long.

Best hangover bacon sandwich and tea - that cafe next to the Hove station car hand wash thing.

I was actually very impressed with these guys. I wasn't expecting much from my sausage sandwich but it was very good. Bonus points for using very good bread.

Me and the wife went to Hove Tandori in Church Road on Monday night and had a lovely meal. Some dishes I haven't seen before and impecable service. That means we've only got the Tapas place to try in the next two weeks to have visited every single food hostelry on Church Road. Not counting Havana Spoon as we've been to that building when it was La Piazza and I'm pretty sure that the Seafield doesn't do food.

The curtains are a good thing though. I have walked past in the summer when the tables outside are in use. The clientele are comical, best that they are kept out of view. It looked like a spoof of Made In Chelsea. Lots of very self-important people and dolly birds. The whole set up just looks utter shit.

Despite what they try to portray, Dermot O'Leary has virtually nothing to do with the place other than posing for photos with fish etc. His wife is friends with the wife of the one of the owners and they rather shamelessly use him as advertising for that restaurant and their other business, a jewelry shop in North Laine.

Regardless, you've got to be a little bit stupid to go to a restaurant because it's owned by a TV presenter ( who isn't a chef ) ! Great little place though.

As well as those listed you could actually go to Jamies itself if you're really after an Oliver place. Alternatively Graze can be very good as well - good taster menus which foodies will love.

Any of the ginger restaurants are good,gingerman(norfolk square)is a delight the others,gingerfox,gingerdog and the gingerpig are more relaxed but always excellent food,if your going for fish for me riddle and finns is the best in town(forget fishy fishy)and i also found ockendon manor a little stuffy(good grub though),happy eating.

We did The World's End, London Road on Saturday - incredible.
One 18-hour smoked beef brisket burrito and one 16-hour pulled pork and chorizo quesadilla later, we were in heaven. 9/10.

Used to go there a lot and really enjoyed it - never had a bad dish there and the portions are quite big for tapas. However, they reduced the menu last year and removed many of my favourite dishes so we haven't been back for a while.

Ambience can be a bit flat depending on how busy it is but for a proper foodie treat in Hove I don't think you can beat Graze. It's my firm belief that the only reason it doesn't have a Michelin star yet is because its service isn't snooty (...or sometimes efficient) enough. Food's great, though.
