Im hoping that they will Mellotron. I reckon that the last game at Withers may see an exclusive run out of next seasons Falmer shirt. Bit like last years home game gave a preview of this seasons shirt.

Also Im sure with this brave new era that the club would want shirts on the shelves to bang out as soon as bloody possible. I would also hope that the shirts will also be available at all sports shops in Sussex, Im also hoping it WONT be Errea but I think I live in hope on that one.

Im glad to say that it has been a few years since the "we got 100 from Errea, we are expecting the rest around mid October".

You speak the (semi) truth, as I understand things. As of a couple of seasons ago there was no specific rule that clubs must have a clear back-of-shirt. However, there was football league guidance that clubs avoid stripes or patterns as they could potentially make the number difficult to read. It was up to the clubs whether they wanted to follow the guidance.

That was how it was explianed to me.

Anyways, thanks for the other info on the new crest - I hadn't heard any of that before.

Plain backs are a UEFA requirement for shirts that are "club specific" designs Iie customised) rather than "off the company shelf designs"
UEFA Kit Regulations
Edition 2008
II Basic Provisions
Article 8
Colours
No item of the playing attire worn by outfi eld players (shirt, shorts and socks)
may consist of more than four colours. This provision does not apply to the
colours used for lettering (number, player’s name, sponsor, etc.). If three or
more colours are used, one must be clearly dominant on the surface of the
shirt, shorts and socks respectively, and the remaining colours must clearly
be minor colours.
A fi fth colour is allowed as a decorative colour, provided that it corresponds
to the colour used for lettering, is one of the colours in the club/member
association emblem or national fl ag, covers only a very small area of the
garment, and is used purely for decorative purposes. Such decorative
colour must not dominate or affect the distinctiveness of the garment.
For outfi eld players, the main (dominant) colour must be visible to the
same extent on the back and front of the garment in question excluding the
number zone (see Article 10).
At least one of the colours used to create a hooped, banded, striped or
checked shirt on the front must be the dominant colour on the back of the
shirt if the same pattern (e.g. stripes) is not used on the back.
Small horizontal or vertical lines covering the whole length or breadth of
the shirt that do not exceed 1 mm in width (pin stripes) do not constitute a
striped shirt. However such pin stripes must be spaced at least 5 cm apart.
In order to clearly identify each colour of which a kit is made up, UEFA may
measure the colours with a spectrophotometer according to Annex

Article 10
Numbers

A number must appear on the back of the shirt. It must be centred.
The number must be of a single colour with the required minimum contrast
with the background colour according to Annex D.
Around the fi gure(s), there must be a zone free from any item and comprising
a single-colour background
if so required, according to Annex D (Number
zone; see Annex C and D, point 8).
The number must be clearly legible and:
a) 25-35 cm high (20-35 cm for women’s competitions);
b) the stroke width of the fi gure must be 3-5 cm.
The number must be clearly legible from a considerable distance in daylight
and under fl oodlights to the referees team, UEFA delegate and spectators in
the stadium as well as to the TV viewers.

A number must also appear on the front of the shorts, on either leg, in any
position. This number must be between 10 cm and 15 cm in height and
clearly legible.

I don't reckon we will as we'll probably be changing sponsor. The only reason we could last season was the continuation with IT first.

So...here's another question then....if the club take possession of the stadium in May, when the handover is due, at what point do they start using it in terms of the offices and shop then?

Would the shop in Queens Road remain operational until the start of the next season, or do they begin selling from the new sh...er....MEGAstore before that?

Can anyone explain why, Stoke, Huddersfield & Brentford, to name the first three that immedeatly come into my mind have stripes on the back?

Oh, and also, I believe I have seen the new badge (unless it was a decoy), it's going to float a few peoples boats, but it is not in anyway ground breaking. Think

I'm pretty certain I read that the shop in Queens Road will remain open. There would have been no reason to move and spend so much time and effort into fitting the place if they were not planning to stay there.

Edit: Club Shop in Town

not to mention all the trade they'd lose from people not wanting to travel to Falmer just for the odd thing.

Indeed. A visual presence in the town centre is essential. I'd like them to get Gully and his associates out in the town centre on a busy shopping day. Competitions to win tickets and so on or handing out money off vouchers in the club shop.

Hell, there are more shirts of Man Utd et al available in town :nono:

Where is everyone seeing the new badge from all of a sudden? Friends of friends or something I take it? :lolol:

I haven't seen the new badge yet. But two friends (one is a West Ham supporter, the other follows Spurs) have both been shown it.

They thought it was "okay."

Something like that.
Each person that sees it can then take +3 to see it also (as long as they're not JCLs).

There was a some sort of presentation a few months ago where they canvassed certain fans views on different subjects, one of which was the new badge.
I believe Bozza, Lord Bracknell and Superphil went to this.
There was also a massive binfest about who got to go and why they were chosen as representative of BHAFC fans.
