Definitely this. It was a f***ing stupid risk they took, IMO. Go somewhere else, you thick middle class gimps.
says a thick middle class gimp, why should these captain jacks get away with kidnap just because they were sailing on their patch ,the couple probably didn't see the no entry buoy floating around the area !

because das there are hundreds of other merchant seaman held captive in somalia and this sort of event really muddys the waters when it comes to the agreed (although haphazard) methods of release for vessels and crew. there really is no need to be there for pleasure. this will not be sorted until there is some sort of functioning government in somalia so all this bollocks about blowing them out of the water is counterproductive and will put more innocent people at risk. thats why its not being done.

No, no I didn't. I disappeared to do the shopping and pick the kids up from school. When I returned, I saw this "still waiting" bollocks suggesting he had PMd me, which he hadn't.

Oh well, lets get back to the action.

For a change, I believe you were discussing johnny foreigner and how wrong it is that he's claimed asylum here.

there was a report that the French gave a bunch of pirates they apprehended over to the Kenyans, who promptly had them shot!

The fact that there is someone in the UK who knows how to make contact with dodgy pirates and offers his services in order to achieve the release of innocent hostages seems to me a good thing. Given the instability of civil government in Somalia, it wouldn't surprise me if the individual concerned has a history of fleeing the dangers of his homeland.

Dahir Abdullahi Kadiye is described as a former refugee who now has UK citizenship. That makes him perfectly legal.

This may well be an instance where there are positive benefits arising from the UK providing refuge from the dangers that prevail in countries like Somalia.

I agree, though, that the FACTS are far from clear.

Smallpox hasn't been totally eradicated, small samples of it are stored very securly in reference laboratories in the USA and Russia. Although I'd suprised in Britain and China didn't have it too.

yes i am sure the intelligence and diplomatic services breathed a sigh of relief that some chancer from the 20th floor of a tower block in woolwich helped them organise a ransom that almost guarantees this will happen again now to other non commercial vessels who bumble into their sights.

easy to say bravo when your village outside lewes hasnt had thousands of somalis, often very traumatised and disturbed, turn up on your doorstep. but please feel free to champion these policies knowing full well you dont have to live with the consequences. as for using this as an example of the benefits of a lax asylum policy, utterly bonkers LB. I know Lokki is on a wind up but i am not sure about you.

This is the part of this clown's post that made me laugh " it wouldn't surprise me if the individual concerned has a history of fleeing the dangers of his homeland " ! I dont know about fleeing , but he has a history of going back and f***ing forth from the dangers of his homeland !!
