Hartepool - what an utterly pointless club, I wish they would just f*** off.

Oh well, at least their 3000 fans will get to enjoy another century of mid table mediocrity.
It's a bit disrespectful, but I agree entirely. They're just one of those clubs, along with Tranmere who will never do anything significant in the league (ie always battling relegation) yet ALWAYS seem to cause us problems on their patch, and manage to frustrate us far more than sides like Charlton, Saints, Posh managed.. despite the fact that we're clearly a far better side.[/bitter]

Keeps up my rather bizarre record of having not seen us lose in 12 games this season.. yet of the 7 games I've listened to on the radio we've lost 4 (drawn 2, won 1). Can't stand listening to the commentary as I just associate it with losing! But I can't afford to go to every game. :lolol:

Anyway, let's try and re-group and get past Woking on Tuesday and try to boost the confidence for Bristol Rovers.

No team ( however talented ) can maintain peak performance. It now looks like we peaked at Peterboro and are now going into a lull period. The level dropped significantly v Exeter but we got an early goal and had nothing to beat. Woking worked their socks off and we lacked ideas and now we've been worked over today.
It doesn't mean the wheels have come off, just not running as smoothly as they were. It is unreasonable to expect this high level of form to continue and we now need to ' nick ' a few results, rather than swamping teams.
But...the rough house tactics employed by Pool will be used against us more and more now. After all, it worked.

Also got Sheff Wed a win, and Bournemouth a draw.

You all sound like Arsenal fans. One defeat and Hartlepool are "f***ing dirty" and a "pointless club".

Nothing like losing with grace eh?

I seem to remember a lot of threads on here slagging off Posh fans who took our 3-0 win over them as badly as this. Our time to stay level headed in the face of shit result and we fail miserably.

Hope Lua Lua is ok, he is the biggest concern from today for me.

We were never in it, second best all over the pitch.
We can't blame the ref, everything was lethargic, we went into tackles half heartedly, they won every tackle header and first to every loose ball.

They deserved the win, we wasted 2 golden chances at vital times.

After playing so well for 2 months, it was a bad day at the office and looked like the decision to rest players against Woking meant we lost a lot of momentum.

Fair enough we had a bad day. May be Gus will now use Tuesday to get the team back in the groove.

Pools fan here. I would have taken a draw before the game as a good result for us, so the win was great. Bad day at the office is a good analogy for your team. We know that feeling better than you lot. TBH I wouldn't have complained if it stayed at 1 - 1 but we took our chances well for a change.
Nice comments previously from some of the more eloquent people here. "I wish Hartlepool would f*** off" or some such drivel. We are still in one of the best positions in our history and have to keep fighting to stay here despite having no money to spend. Yes the support isn't great but those of us who do turn up all the time live for days like today. You've got a cracking team and WILL be promoted, so stop whining about losing the odd game.

About LuaLua, when he came past us on the stretcher we all stood up to clap him off and he acknowledged it by clapping us back. He caused us a few headaches when he came on so I hope he is back on his feet soon for your sake. Nobody wants him crocked.

Thanks for the heads up. Its not always clear from the commentary how we 'really' are doing. It can be a bit myopic on occasion.

We are not doing what promotion teams are meant to do, playing below par and get a result. Exactly the opposite, we are playing well and not getting the results drawing at home to Rochdale and Bournemouth when we should have won and failing to get results at Sheffield Wednesday. Underachieving by results.

From the radio reports Tranmere and Hartlepool have given us most trouble in the League this season.

This post stinks of piss. What an utter load of bollocks.

I wouldn't say we were anywhere near our best against Exeter or Yeovil, but those still turned into comfortable wins for us. Below par at Tranmere and still got a point. And we've drawn a couple of home games as well *shock horror*

Can you just have a bit of perspective - we're halfway through November and have just had our SECOND defeat of the season. Get a grip for christs sake.
