According to today's Argus the other three stands will be named after sponsors but the North Stand will be just that in rememberance of the Goldstone days.

We can all go there for a chat.

I dont remember all that much chatting in the original though.

But they were NEVER enough to disguise the smell of years-old rank, stale PISS

I took a deep sniff in there at the Donny game...I wowed never to breathe again until we had returned from the ruins

It did'nt last, but I will exhale in the bogs at Falmer to honour those bogs..the bogs I loved...at the Goldstone.

Is this really a fitting tribute to the Goldstone's finest stand?!?... seeing as the north stand at Falmer holds about 80 people! Spin the ground round on its axis and have the West facing north and we're there.

:)

I don't care too much what any of them are called as long as the don't use the words 'Falmer' or 'Lewes' are used. The 'Up Yours Nimbies' stand would be nice.

According to the Arsegas it is in memory of 'the huge terrace' at the Goldstone!

Probably about a quarter of the size of the Kop at Anfield, or the North Bank at Highbury I would guess?

Mind you, it was home.

It actually holds 2688 fans which is over 1000 more than Withdean's North Stand, fact fans. Without missing the tone of the above post, I can't imagine that in latter days, the North Stand at the Goldstone held much more given that the capacity for the Doncaster game was only around 11500. Can't find stats on the net - anyone know what the capacity was? I would plump for around 3500-4000 tops.

north stand could hold 5000 but if 2000 were singing it would be rocking,as long as they promote the new north stand as the vocal end we will be ok:thumbsup:

I like this. I suspect it's the clubs initial to ensure there is some atmosphere in the ground. Basically if you want to sing, I suspect that's where you go.

Personally, I always liked the look of a main stand singing section near the away fans.
