Was going to bring another point up about it being the Kick racism out of football fortnight and was browsing the kick it out website and saw this:

Brighton & Hove Albion are to host an event in conjunction with Kick It Out debating the issue of homophobia in football.

The event, in association with The Justin Campaign and Albion In The Community, takes place this coming Tuesday (27th October) and forms part of the One Game One Community weeks of action, and will see a panel debate a topic that has long been a concern.

The panel will include Brian Oliver of The Guardian and Darren Ollerton from The Justin Campaign, an anti-homophobia campaign set up in memory of gay football Justin Fashanu.

The event will be hosted by the BBC’s Richard Reynolds.

Attending the event will be Brighton fan Norman Cook AKA Fatboy Slim, the heads of Albion In The Community Steve Ford and Alan Saunders and former Brighton players.

How about an Islamaphobia Awareness in Football campaign. The Albion could play an Iraq select XI, prayer rooms could be installed behind the South Stand, the Sportsman serving only non-alcoholic drinks, the game kicked off by an Imam, and the call to prayer resonating from the tannoy at half time. Women only sections would also be provided. Blue and white Burkhas available free sponsored by the Bank of Pakistan.

Obviously this mustn't clash with the Homophobia event, due to cultural sensitivities.

As long as we, and the opposition, can sing 'our' songs!

Perhaps Gully's Girls will be replaced by local drag queens for the event? We could end up being the most PC club in England. I can see the singing section bursting into a rendition of "I will Survive".

Hardly any gays like football and the ones that do probably wouldn't admit to it.

why are we pampering to these "types"

Would bet our fans are generally more tolerent in this respect being called poofs week in and week out by rivals.

Smacks of gesture politics and tokenism, Justin F had stronger connections with Norwich so wouldn't that be a better place?
