Dowie would be a better appointment than Shearer. They should swap jobs, if he does join.
I didn't think he'd have the balls to take over when they are in so much trouble, and risk his "hero" status.
There's no denying Spurs are infact a bigger club than newcastle & have the larger fanbase, and a better history.
But I never suggested we were as big as United.
He's in a no lose situation though. If they go down, it won't be his fault, but if he keeps them up, he'll become an uber-hero.

While I agree he is in a no lose situation, the thought just struck - if he walks away after taking them down, won't there be a backlash from the fans? I mean, if it's not his fault they went down why is he leaving? He should stay and help them back up!
