£5.50 for an omelette?
Stacey's mother would have a heart attack.
Scrambled Eggs should really be on the menu I think.
Can't believe they even put on the menu in hotels for breakfast.
It has to be cooked from fresh and takes at least 15 minutes (or more) to prepare properly.
15 mins.........you having a laugh. What the hell do you use to cook it with, a match??![]()
Both Heston and the Little Chef CEO were being twats
Heston has to realise that not everyone wants poncy food. You go to a greasy spoon because you want basic meals. All he has to do is imrpove the ingredients.
I was relieved he actually attempted to do a fry up instead of some shitty thing with frois gras or something equally pretentious.
The ideal thing would be to keep things like The Fry Up, the burger and chips but make them edible. The food people want is the food they cook at home. NOt £200 a head poncy aubergine foam with oyster and tarragon ice cream.
I cook a fantastic scrambled egg in under 10 mins.....But 15 mins, thats a long time IMO.
I'll have to show you one day
The trick is to never have the heat higher than the lowest possible setting at any point - and that's take time.
ah , well I have it on a high heat, but turn it off way before it's cooked- 5 minutes and delicious!
If you are going to go on a drive and you are concerned about motorway food bring your own f***ing sandwiches. Its quite simple.
true ................ or wait for an M&S service station. The sarnies may not be cheap but you know what you are getting.
we should consider ourselves very lucky how well we were served for little chefs on the A23, although Hickstead was dicing with death trying to pull out of it with a gutful of cheap beans and your free lolly in your mouth.
Purley is a Starbucks now, obviously aiming at the trendy Brighton market, it would be a fried chicken shop if they wanted the Croydon pound.
