I'm sorry but I think they should just produce the same menu as they always have, but in a clean and inviting environment, and with quality ingredients and basic care and skill in the preparation.

I don't stop at a Little Chef for smoked salmon and Lapsang Souchong Scrambled eggs, or some dry ice 'aroma' dessert.

I want a decent full English, burger and chips, lasagne, chicken salad etc... serverd quickly and at a sensible family price.

little chef didn't do sensible family prices. £8 for a breakfast when you could get the same from tesco's and sainsburys cafes for a quid.

Unless they've changed hugely, Little Chef were neither fast or sensibly priced last time I used any of them. They failed entirely over here but I've eaten there since in England and Wales and its been slow service, poor quality food and bloody expensive...

Although that may actually have been your point.

Watching this on +1 now.

Watching on +1 now. They always get your ducking order wrong, that's the main thing. Happy water and ajs were much better but they got taken over by little chef.

IMO...Little Chef is a 70's fad of which I think needs knocking down, rebuilding and re-built using healthy food rather than stuck in a microwave, or sat on top of a fat soaked griddle...

Discusting man!!!!

What's the deal with celebrity chefs reinventing all our greasy food options?

First they get Oliver on school meals, and now Heston's working on Little Chef.

What next: Gordon Ramsay revitalises Superchef in St James's Street? Nigella Lawson puts her unique twist on the Market Diner?

Both Heston and the Little Chef CEO were being twats

Heston has to realise that not everyone wants poncy food. You go to a greasy spoon because you want basic meals. All he has to do is imrpove the ingredients.

I was relieved he actually attempted to do a fry up instead of some shitty thing with frois gras or something equally pretentious.

The ideal thing would be to keep things like The Fry Up, the burger and chips but make them edible. The food people want is the food they cook at home. NOt £200 a head poncy aubergine foam with oyster and tarragon ice cream.

Cooking doesn't get much tougher than this.

Looks like he got there in the end though

Much better and the sort of food I would expect. Why anyone on earth would buy a thai green curry from a little chef is beyond me.

I really like the bloke.

I really enjoyed his BBC2 series, if you looked beyond the special effects there were some really useful tips.

For instance when he was making his "spag bol", he put Thai fish sauce in it, working on the principle that it naturally contains a substance that enhances the flavour of red meat.

I tried it - and he's absolutely right.

Looks a lot neater - the prices still look expensive though - £4.50 for scrambled eggs is ridiculous!!

Scrambled Eggs should really be on the menu I think.

Can't believe they even put on the menu in hotels for breakfast.

It has to be cooked from fresh and takes at least 15 minutes (or more) to prepare properly.

That menu doesn't look bad at all actually - assuming thats actually been deployed and they're cooking it properly. Still watching the show now...
