The replies to that from palace fans are embarrassingly naive. Apparently we, forest and Chelsea are used to being in Europe so this somehow exonerates palace as their owners didn't understand, and also it's so so unfair as palace EARNED the right to be in Europe. Er, don't think so if they have not played by the rules in the same way that everyone else has.

Apparently, according to Sky, the decision has gone to an independent (from UEFA) committee that will make a judgement on whether or not Palace have broken the rules. Nothing more, nothing less. I suspect there is f-all they can do about it now other than crossing their fingers.

Well, yes, I know that. But if UEFA are frightened of upsetting too many people and coming across as the bad guys (heaven forbid), then this seems the most likely compromise to me. I'm not saying it's right or wrong.

I’m not sure taking them out of one competition, and putting them in another competition where they will have broken the same rules, is likely to survive any legal challenge which would inevitably come.
