Saying they earned it is like saying they earned the right to drive by buying a car, even though they haven’t put the work in to sort out the paperwork of getting a licenceThe replies to that from palace fans are embarrassingly naive. Apparently we, forest and Chelsea after used to being in Europe so this somehow exonerates palace as their owners didn't understand, and also it's so so unfair as palace EARNED the right to be in Europe. Er, don't think so if they have not played by the rules in the same way that everyone else has.
Surely the obvious outcome to all this is Forest will be promoted to Europa League (so UEFA don't have to handle Marinakis's whining and bullying) and Palace will be demoted to Conference League (so UEFA aren't seen as heartless monsters for throwing them out of Europe altogether).
What?[sigh]

Exactly, how many posts have explained this. Let him read 67 pages to catch up.[sigh]
Well, yes, I know that. But if UEFA are frightened of upsetting too many people and coming across as the bad guys (heaven forbid), then this seems the most likely compromise to me. I'm not saying it's right or wrong.Bondby are in the conference, Palace owners also own them.
Doh, you should have let him read the whole thread.Bondby are in the conference, Palace owners also own them.
I’m not sure taking them out of one competition, and putting them in another competition where they will have broken the same rules, is likely to survive any legal challenge which would inevitably come.Well, yes, I know that. Why would they enforce the rules in one competition but not another?Well, yes, I know that. But if UEFA are frightened of upsetting too many people and coming across as the bad guys (heaven forbid), then this seems the most likely compromise to me. I'm not saying it's right or wrong.
