All power to Nottingham Forest taking it to UEFA over this. That’s really not going to help Palaces cause!
It's good to see the decent, honest, well-run clubs take a stand.

So essentially, as soon as your club has qualified for the fifth round of the cup or are not fighting relegation come the middle to end of February, you need to put shares in any other European club into a blind trust or sell them? Then if you don't qualify, buy them back if you can?
Yup. Any club involved in multi club ownership needs to be prepared for this type of conflict of interest. Can you imagine Bloom and Barber not having this level of foresight and forward planning?

This was always going to happen wasn’t it. Forest and Brighton owners changed to comply with the rules. Not our fault that palace did not. If you don’t sign up to the rules then don’t play in the comp. Simple as that really.

The Times reporting that Forest have written to UEFA.
The Times is sure it’s going to end up into Court of Arbitration for Sport.

If Palace lose their place, they will do it, if they win, Forest will do it.

And although some clubs might not have it sorted by the 5th round, you'd certainly get it organised after winning the semi-final.

The Times one is behind a paywall, but here's the summary from SportBible:

Premier League club Nottingham Forest have written a letter to UEFA amid the ongoing row over Crystal Palace's participation in next season's Europa League, it has been reported.

Palace's position in the competition is in potential danger, according to The Times, over concerns that the club may be in breach of multi-club ownership rules.

Bozza edit: Please, please, please do NOT copy and paste entire articles from other sites, paywalled or not.

1. It's not fair on the sites that produce content - they are deprived of visits, eyeballs and ad earnings etc.
2. NSC is at risk of very expensive, possibly site-ruining copyright claims.

Please just post a brief snippet and then a link to the article that people can visit and read should they so wish.

Exactly. They have been operating with an unfair advantage over the other clubs who played by the rules all season.

Would there be time to take it to the CAS before the season started? Legal proceedings aren't normally enacted quickly, particularly over the summer.

Just took a look at social media and it’s full of people going “boo, nobody likes a grass” about the Forest letter.

Like they think (a) this is one massive Guy Ritchie movie and (b) that UEFA were unaware of their own rules until Forest piped up.
