Such a shame, Spurs were awful, apparently their worst PL finish. A guaranteed 6 points for us next season had he stayed. They might actually get someone who knows what they are doing.
Lads, it's Spurs.

Silva has offers from Saudi again, after he tried to accept one of their jobs a couple of seasons ago and Fulham said no. Iraola will be getting paid pretty well at Bournemouth so he may like the easy life there.

It would be objectively hilarious if all three of them declined the Spurs job.
I don’t see Iraola turning it down.
Spurs could trump his salary at Bournemouth, and the whole 12000 versus 60000 and CL football, surely would be a massive pull.

I feel guilty now for signing, “2-0 and you f***ed it up” at the Amex, and “You should have gone down “ at WHL.
Probably helped get the poor bloke the sack.
I can clearly remember being 0-2 down at half-time to Spurs at The Amex and saying to my mate that Spurs look superb.
As I look back, it's a reminder that I haven't got a clue what's going on in front of me.

I think that was the ultimate game of 2 half’s.(and we’ve seen a few)

Tottenham looked like world beaters until halftime, then, seemed to completely lose any sort of footballing ability after halftime.

Ange must have given a hell of a halftime talk.

Think it was the hunger they lost at half time. Didn’t know what to do after we scored.

They were superb in the 1st half. It was men against boys but Fab, Steeley and Milner had their say and we tore them a new 1. Remember some players saying they were given some advice by " Milly and Steeley" which had the desired effect🙂

Let’s do the fact, he won a trophy we would be proud of, THFC$ first for 17 years, and only their third Euro trophy ever. Good work by normal standards.

But how I have enjoyed this sideshow and what may follow. Don’t like Spurs, never have. Goes back to 78 etc etc. Fat Ange is the usual cocky Aussie bullshitter. Yes he did OK in the domestic A league, not the toughest gig. Yes he got the Socceroos into the WC finals, the sport is growing massively over here and the qualification process has been getting easier. Yes he won the Mickey Mouse title with Celtic, so f***ing what? With Spurs he has benefitted from damn big transfer spending, an injury list less than Brighton. But he managed 17th in the PL, and a dull victory against a shit United.

The Aussie press are slagging Spurs and Levy, fine by me, but saying he can go to whatever job he wants next, Spanish or Italian giants, United, or wherever because he is likened to God, bleurgh! But if it leads to Spurs struggling again through too much change, and Glasner leaving Palace, how good would that be?

HAHAHAHAHAHA Honestly, this part is hilarious

I can see him at Ajax maybe? that being the highest level he will be at again, a B Level league

I can not see a PL club taking a punt on him again after the comments in the press from other managers saying how easy he is to play against, might prove me wrong of course!

I seem to recall chatting with @Hugo Rune at half time and saying I felt strangely relaxed about the second half.
But I could be after-timing.

Personally, and I said this before, but based on expectations this season, Postecoglu delivered way higher than Spurs have achieved in, what, a decade?

Everyone knew that the bottom three were gone from Christmas, Spurs were never in danger. If there was ever a season to throw the league and focus on a Cup, it's this one.

He won a cup and guaranteed Champions League football. That is success. Would I take that season here? Absolutely.

All that said, this isn't a decision based on the past, it's based on the future, and if the Spurs board think that Ange isn't the man to improve league form and compete on multiple fronts next season, then the balance of evidence isn't in his favour and he has to go.

Not after timing. You were oddly sanguine about the situation where as I was speculating on how many more goals Spurs would put past us in the 2nd half!
Same, we were annihilated in the first half 0-2 was a flattering scoreline. Fantastic second half performance, up there with our best ever recoveries given how outplayed we were in the first half.

Really interesting to see how our defence was changed in the first half. Webster went off injured after 9 minutes to be replaced by Igor. It took the Brazilian the rest of the half to settle into the game. We looked so ragged.

FH had dropped Perv for Kadıoğlu in the previous game at Newcastle which seemed to have worked up north although we were probably playing two left backs against the Geordies with our back 6 in that game! Kadıoğlu could not handle Spurs in the first half and was replaced by Perv at half time. The Ecuadorian had a great 2nd half and kept his place for the following match at Liverpool where FH had to find a position on the wing for his beloved Dutch-Turk.

I know Levy is taking a lot of flak for this sacking, but I wonder what Tony would have done in a parallel universe where in April 2019, Kyle Walker gets sent off, Brighton win the Cup Semi Final and subsequent Final in May.
Does he still sack CH because he doesn't believe he can get us to be a regular top 10 club?

I know it's well-paid but you do wonder why any ambitious manager would want to go to Spurs. You're on a loser there: winning trophies isn't enough, getting to the Champions League isn't enough, so you're going to get sacked within a couple of years and may or may not bounce back.

You have to work with the most tight-fisted chairman in the PL, one who doesn't even seem that keen on football, and have to put up with the most entitled set of fans in England. You don't even have a cheese room any more.

Someone like Frank may earn less at Brentford, but he's going to have a much more pleasant life

Lots of likes for “most tight fisted chairman”, when it isn’t true. A squad that cost more than Liverpool’s, 6th highest wage spend. Yet 17th place and plenty of other clubs played in Europe too.
