I must be in the minority here but I'd be really sad to see Joao Pedro leave.

Provided we can sort whatever has gone on behind the scenes, I think he's got loads to offer.

Seasons are long, and he adds real muscle and movement to our forward line. I'm not sure we're in a position to dismiss a 10-goal a season striker yet. Especially one capable of playing the target man when required.

He's scored some HUGE goals for us and is a natural finisher.

I'm probably living in cloud cuckoo land, but I'd bloody *love* to have him and Mitoma in the squad next year.

I think he's an excellent player and offers a certain something that no one in our squad can. He's got pace, skill, technique, tenacity, flair, fire in his belly and arguably the two most iconic goal celebrations the Amex has seen(Marseilles in the crowd and that 1,2,3,4 throat cutting palace one).

He is, IMO, better than all of our attacking options bar Mitoma. I'd love to still have him here next year.

The only way I'd want him sold if it was a case of one of him, Mitoma and Baleba going. In that case I'd reluctantly let him go as we have no one that can do Baleba's job, no options close to Mitoma(other than maybe Pedro himself) whereas we do have decent options at 9/10.

If we could keep all three though and made our money by selling the likes of Adingra, Enciso(who I also really like but...), Igor, Sarmiento, Sima etc instead of one big sale that would be perfect.

He may want out but if TB wants circa 60 million for him he may have to knuckle down and get on with playing for the Albion. Not seeing a cut price deal however much he wants to leave and I am struggling to think of any club except a Saudi one paying 60 million for him in the current climate. Which first team player has managed to get themselves released for a knock down fee other than Gross and Burn who were exceptions and model professionals? Ali Mac maybe but he signed a new contract and presumably a pre agreed decent fee which only looked too low once he came back WC winner.

Pedro is top drawer on his day and I've loved watching him for us. Ice cold nerves, natural finisher as you say. Does so much work off the ball that doesn't get appreciated as well as assists, link-up and goal creation abilities. The sort of player who delivers in crucial league matches and cup ties when it matters. I can't celebrate him moving on at all.

A bit of that is sentimental as you kind of associate JP with the thrilling debut Europa campaign season. That Marseille winner at home is right up there in the all-time Albion memories.. iconic. If he wasn't our player now, you'd bloody love to sign him. But no player is bigger than the club and the (apparent) attitude issue is really disappointing. As usual, we'll probably never know the true story.

As a footnote, these player altercations, strops and strikes are happening a little too frequently (Trosssard, Sanchez.. now JP). What are we... the new Dutch national team at tournaments?

I don't think you are in the minority - people with extreme opinions tend to post loudly and repetitively. He has always had a coterie of people who don't like his mannerisms on the pitch (understandably, they are annoying at times) and you are just hearing from every one of these folk now. Many of us would love Pedro to stay and work him back to the kind of peak form that smashed Palace last year. The mood music isn't good for us now in the transfer whispers, which is a real shame

I think it will be very difficult to attract a club prepared to shell out that sort of fee. He hasn't exactly shown the best form, or attitude, in recent months.

That said, l do rate him, and if he is prepared to knuckle down, toe the club line etc. he can be a fantastic player. That season in the Europa League, he was on fire..

Naylor saying yes to a a potential new signing is seen as a gold seal on here. That’s because he appears to run every story past the club and then reports what they want him to. I don’t think he’d report his house being burgled unless the club gave him permission to call the police.

For him to suddenly not only report that a player was dropped due to an altercation with another player; but to break the story, without the clubs explicit permission doesn’t happen IMO.

In his situation I’d coast on easy street too, especially as he nears retirement age.

Indeed, we successfully turned a Championship player into a regular and admired (well outside NSC) goal scorer in the EPL. If we only get an extra £20m for all that work, we'll have been stitched up like a kipper - we need to at least double our money and that will be not a great dela for us given how lighter that will leave our goal scoring potential

In terms of our squad for next season and the No.9 position, we'll still have Welbz. Georginio was outstanding at No.9, albeit against Norwich. Ferguson might come good over the summer too.

Then there is the Greek duo of Tzatziki & Kalamata (if we manage to sign the later) who might turn out to be ready and a pitta alright.
