Very true, I am not sure people are taking in that much context

I think for most it is a case of venting after a disappointing result or performance. I wonder how many will still be calling for his head in the summer, especially once it becomes obvious he is staying and even more so if we start to make a few decent signings (not wingers and attacking mids).

I'll be honest I am not expecting much from the last few games but I am optimistic about next season. With some decent signings I think we'll see more of the good stuff and less of the bad.

This seems a bit reductive ? Hinshelwood is "standing still" since August 2024.
But fair enough. So how much of this - presumably a strong indicator of his development and improvement of what is still a very young player - would you put down to Hurzeler ?

Granted Ayari, JPvH, Baleba…… and perhaps Gruda but the others yourself and @Guinness Boy have mentioned in some respects are possibly demonstrating what we saw when we purchased them…..

Welbeck was an England player, O’Riley a CL player, Rutter was excellent with a massive lower league team…..

Agreed. I’m not sure there’s any way to show we’ve improved former Arsenal, United and England striker Welbeck but I’ll certainly say JPVH has got better over the season as has Ayari.

He’s having to the best stats of his career might be one way? Playing more minutes, more goal involvements, then talk of an England recall some 5 years after his last appearance. At 34 that is some achievement given the career he’s had.

RDZ dropped 14 points in his second season and got an easy ride because of the previous season. The squad had lost all momentum and was largely demoralised in the second half of last season.
We had wholesale changes in the summer. Lots of new faces. With a near fully fit squad, we started well and took 7 points from the first 9. Milner and O'Riley were the first of a catalogue of injuries that have dogged us all season. The manager has been forced to experiment more than he would have liked and at times we have paid the price. The time to really start judging him is next season.

Yes but if you ignore some of RDZs games for some spurious reason then he averages over 1.7.

RDZ managed us for 70 games. First season...32 games 52 points. Second season 38 games 48 points. Total....100 points. Average 1.43.

well it’s a bit of both (expectation) but all bar Welbeck are young and not the finished article. Keeping Welbeck at a similar level to where he was over a decade ago is all credit to him, his fitness but also all the three coaches he’s worked with at the Albion and i'd argue this has been his best Brighton season so far. Ayari was a bit part Championship player last season and is now not far off a PL first choice/Swedish international. He will be attracting interest. Baleba was inconsistent and not a regular under RDZ but now so important that he plays even if he’s out of position. Georginio also worked to become a first choice player after a fitful start with us - and is transformed from his PL apps during the Leeds relegation season. Now.
How much you’d put all of this down to the current coach - i'd definitely say its a big factor - or just their "talent" - harder to say.

I was making a joke about people cherry picking games or goals to suit their argument. I wasn't really trying to dispute your numbers.

Definitely, there is no doubt Baleba and Ayari have come on leaps and bounds, can’t argue with any of that, has to be largely down to training/coaching. Arguably, next season will be interesting for Georginio because he has talent in abundance IMO, and perhaps he’ll kick on again.

So Hinshelwood is going backwards as his attacking stats are MARGINALLY down on last season. Yet Welbeck has his best attacking output ever and he is not improving either!?

and 3) beating "top 6" teams like Chelsea twice, Newcastle twice, Man United twice, Man City at home for the first time, and Spurs.
and 4) seeing two of the greatest goals i think i've seen at the Amex . ever. (Mitoma, Baleba)
and 5) having another season where we were safe from relegation - half way through the season.

Quoting a bit out of context. My point was that the season would be defined by the inability to beat crap teams and poor defensive record, not that it is fair to do so, or that I particularly proscribe to that view. My point was that FH could not really be blamed for either so was supporting him. Plus, as you say, there have been some very good moments.

As I have said many times this season, to expect a stellar performance with a relatively inexperienced manager, who has a gifted yet inexperienced young squad, is unrealistic. If we can keep this squad fully intact next season, it could well be record-breaking, but we need to keep Baleba, Mitoma, Minteh, Pedro and Rutter. This, as we are all so well aware, is our Achilles heel. That said, a couple more respectable seasons and I can see us being in the PL for the long haul.

I wouldn't trust Leicester to get anything right. The clubs that ditch experience and recruit inexperienced, glamorous " big names " invariably go backwards very quickly.
