In addition I would say that Vardy will beat most of our players 1on1 exept Baleba if given opprtunity... and can't really see him playing as a sweeper/libero either. If that happens I want compensation from the club for the idea ;)
I'd have Minteh man mark him. Though my only football qualification is that I set up 4231 in PES way before it was seen in the PL.

Cashin or someone else at centre back seems to be the big decision for this game. But I think Hürzeler might tinkle with the formation.

Failure so smash through these low blocks and then thwart fast breaks ruined our biggest week of the season with Forest, Villa and Palace being three of the best proponents of this style of play. But Leicester ain't.

I wonder if that 1 man midfield system might make a return?

I agree 100%. Sitting low and hitting teams on the counter can win you games. I think that is exactly what they think and will do like you said.
You can also win games by dominating the play and possession. Think that what we'll do. Comfortably.

If Baleba is at centre back then I forecast a 10th minute yellow card and a 65th minute red. If Weiffer is at centre back it could be worse than that. That leaves Cashin or one of those blue metal 'defenders' from the training ground as the only viable options I think

Dunk - Cashin - Estupinan
Minteh - Balaba - Gomez - Hinsh
O'Riley - Pedro
Welbeck
With Hürzeler hinting at a change in formation as well as all but confirming Mitoma is out, this is a formation that makes sense.

I like the idea of potentially keeping Estupiñán back in a three instead of marauding up the wing as his recovery pace could be essential in checking Leicester's fast breaks. Could be Adingra and Wieffer instead of Cashin and Gomez though.

Verbruggen

Hinsh Dunk Pervis Solly

Baleba Gomez

Minteh Joao Pedro Adingra (assuming Mitoma is injured)

Welbeck

Subs: Wieffer, Ayari, Gruda, O'Riley. Plus five others who won't come on. Maybe Cashin for 10 minutes if we're 3-0 up.

I consider the talk about "new formation" bollocks, bit like when Hurz said Lamptey might play RB when he already knew the player would miss out with injury.

Otherwise I don't see why he'd talk about it at all. Giving away tactical information for free... nah, nothing is free...

I expect to see some sort of 4-2-3-1 / 4-1-4-1 as usual.

I remember the last time we played one central midfielder. I think it ended 7-0 from memory

I've erased that from my memory so I'll have to trust you on the accuracy of that score line!

To be clear, I think playing one central midfielder is madness. I think Hürzeler will play a minimum of three but it's where he positions them that is the critical bit.

Like Potter, his formations chop and change during the game. The critical formation against Leicester will be the one where we have comfortable possession and all our players except Bart are in the opposition half against a deep block. We play two at the back in these circumstances. I imagine it'll look something like this if we want some pace to cover Dunk at CB.

--------------------Verbruggen----------------------
--------------Dunk-------------Estupiñán-----------
----------------------Baleba--------------------------
-----------Wieffer-------------Gomez----------------
Minteh----O'Riley---Welbeck---Pedro----Adingra

This could then transform into a 5-4-1 when we are under pressure.

--------------------Verbruggen----------------------
Minteh--Wieffer-----Dunk----Baleba-----Estupiñán
------O'Riley----Pedro---Gomez----Adingra-------
----------------------Welbeck------------------------

Just need to get Hinshelwood in the team somewhere!
