Seemingly refusing to sign a new contract because the clubs objectives and ambitions don’t tally with his.

He’s off 100%
If that’s the case (I’m not sure it is) he’s a prat for thinking the club needs to adapt to him, when things like recruitment approach/policy would have been made 100% clear to him when he joined.

Disagree with the top part - we have got plenty of players for the first team. Yes there is a look towards profitability but they also have gone into the first team.

Second part - how do you know players have not been sought?
They aren't being sought now are they?

We signed 6 players this window.
Barco was the only one signed for a gap in the squad.

The others are behind aling list of young talented players competing for the first team.

There is nothing wrong with the model.
But it's focus is generating revenue, not signing first team players.

That was prior to selling 1 player for £120m

I'd like him to stay. I'm getting too long in the tooth for all this chopping and changing.....doesn't mean I would vote on a meaningless poll on an internet forum though and yes, I'm still grumpy after the midweek performance

Where’s the “perhaps” option? To me it depends entirely on our summer business. If we can plug what RDZ considers the gaps in the squad, then I think he’ll sign a new contract and fight for us.

Fail to do that, and/or if the squad doesn’t feel like it’s developing in the way he needs it to to succeed, and i think he’ll look for a challenge where he doesn’t feel quite so hamstrung.

This does half the makings of a Poyet Palace play off game. Not focussed on the game, a lot of background noise - Brighton get stuffed and RDZ walks out 🫣
Or we win in style and the old “now would be a good time to leave” statement comes out again

Yes. Maybe it's misplaced confidence, but I get the impression that the main players are closer than people think. I think RDZ will be backed in the summer and we'll go from there.

Bloom knows what he's doing, whatever happens though. Plus he's a fan.

We could have been bidding for a lot of players but for whatever reason they didn’t join. There were plenty of rumours about players.
The club like to do business behind closed doors so we only get to know a small part of what goes on behind the scenes

I can’t help laughing at why people think a Brighton manager will automatically get o top job. We’ve won 3 in 16 yes we have injuries although the drop off shouldn’t be that dramatic. His selections are often wrong the goal keeper swapping has been a disaster to the point both of them look a bag of nerves. Worrying our coach can’t see it.

I don't think he's a prat. Last season he showed we can compete with the best - we were a couple of VAR decisions off Champions League. Barber even mentioned RDZ was so good he was changing the thinking in the Boardroom about how far we can go.

I have no problem with him being more ambitious than the club's transfer policy will let him be, I just think it's a real shame given how good he is and what a healthy position we're in.

It’s not lame though is it - you‘re suggesting Tony busts the philosophy and approach to spending that has got the club where it is.
Tony" s philosophy is not as rigid as you think.
Unusually Tony is not prepared to back a manager that seems capable of taking us to a higher level.

He has settled for top 10.
That's fair enough.

But it pushes the onus back to a passionate manager.

I understand it.
But I think it's the wrong play.

Guesswork. You have no idea what players we tried to get and at what cost.

It’s definitely not lack of ambition - both summer and January we seemingly had £30M-ish bids in for attacking midfielders / playmakers but seemingly we couldn’t get the players.

In fact I’d go as far as saying RDZ saying he wants 2 or 3 players in press conferences perhaps even weakened the clubs negotiating position.
