The Afterparty
I'm on epsiode 4 after discovering this show this morning (couple of season 2 episodes are now available). Murder mystery show - Murder occurs at an ater party following a high school reunion. Season 1 is 8 episodes, each one telling the evening's events from a different perspective, with each episode playing with different genres reflecting the character telling the story. Ep1 was rom com, ep2 more action, ep 3 musical, ep4 thriller.

Hijack is fun.

I'm having to ignore some honking great big plot holes but the drama is very dramatic.
Having just watched the penultimate episode I fully concur with this opinion!

If you're the person who watching stuff mutters 'well that would never happen', Hijack really isn't for you.

But for everyone else it's rollicking good fun.

Thoroughly enjoyed the series

Daring to Zlatan
Jimmy Keene is sentenced to 10 years in a minimum security prison but he cuts a deal with the FBI to befriend a suspected serial killer. Keene has to elicit a confession from Larry Hall to find the bodies of as many as eighteen women.

Some great reviews, out Friday. Including the late Ray Liotta.

Just finished watching this one. Thought it was excellent, and as always the fact that it’s a true story make it that little but more tense.

Yeah me too.
I'm not really Mr Subtitles so I think the sporadic nature of them really helped me to focus on the show, which then improved the quality.

I've had enough time from series 1 to now go into series 2 but Ive just started Silo instead!

I loved Slow Horses so much I went straight into 2 from 1 which I think was a mistake, and rather cheapened 2, hence giving Tehran time to move away from before returning.

Can’t get into Silo so it’s gone on the back burner.

Don’t know if you have Paramount, but started the Chemical of Death yesterday, very promising

Nah I don't have that - I want it but am lumbered with, The Bear aside, Disney+, as part of the Apple swap deal.

Apple seems to be really getting it's pooh together for mini series' while Paramount appears to have decent back catalogue of films and drama.
Disney has f**k all and The Bear.

Agree again. Disney is actually quite disappointing.

Looks promising:

The adaptation of the award-winning novel from Mick Herron, Slow Horses follows a team of British intelligence agents who serve in a dumping ground department of MI5 due to their career-ending mistakes. Led by their brilliant but irascible leader, the notorious Jackson Lamb.

Starts on Friday.

With Gary Oldman and Kristin Scott Thomas.

Series 3 starts 1st December, every Friday 'til 29th.

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters
Two episodes available. Series set 'after the fight between Godzilla and the titans' which I presume means after godzilla king of monsters (no idea where it fits with godzilla v kong). Focusing on a family linked to monarch, seems to have a couple of storylines, one set in the past with Wyatt Russell, and one set in the present/near future with Kurt Russell, who so far is tangientially linked to the family (not ruling out a later revelation that he is part of it).

Enjoying it so far. There was an initial monsters thing near the begining linking to Kong Skull Island, and there is a character who keeps having flashbacks to being on the streets during a godzilla attack, but they don't seem to be rushing to, or shoehorning in monsters for the sake of it. So far doing a better job of making you care about the human characters than the movies did.

Disney is more for kids and star wars fans.

We first got it in lockdown for the big Disney releases to watch at home but the kids watch stuff and occasionally we all watch things like only murders in the building.

I just cancelled Apple TV after my free trial. If there is anything I’m desperate to watch I’ll find a way without paying a monthly subscription for another service.

Great news, S5 on the cards. In the meantime, here's the trailer for S4.

Holy smokes - talking on a specific TV channel thread about a programme on said channel, that'll never catch on.

Anyhoo.
Here's a pod with the Slow Horses show runner lots of talk around the whole show arc.
