According to the Telegraph, Bruno has secretly left Chelsea. Is he still the Club Legend I regard him as, or the traitor many seem to believe? Is he welcome at the Amex?

He forwent his legend status when he chose loyalty to Potter over Bloom. He was a good player for us, a good captain and that’ll always be appreciated but no not a legend, not the way his leaving was handled.

One can readily imagine him asking TB "will there still be a role for me under a new manager" and TB frankly replying that there could well not. If the Chelsea offer (for presumably a reasonable pay rise) was time-limited (and let's face it, it turned out to be very time limited!) then that was the only sensible option.
To be a legend you have to be solid and honourable at the end as well as in your time at the team.
I always have a great deal of respect for him but he handed back his legendary ticket by the way he left.

I just don't buy this for one minute. As if there a) wouldn't have been a role for Bruno at the Albion and b) if there wasn't once RDZ arrived then he couldn't have just joined Potter then. He gambled, and he lost. He backed the wrong horse, so tough luck mate. He had a job for life here and a genuine shot at being a Premier League manager in the next few years, but he threw it away by backing Potter over Bloom, so he'll have to make do with a mediocre coaching job in Spain instead.

I like Bruno and was upset when he left. I think he made a bad career move, but then, nobody can see into the future, and it obviously hasn't worked out for him. I hope he finds something he likes, but I doubt Tony Bloom will employ him again.

Legend is an over used word in football. Decent full back and seemed like a nice bloke. I don’t care how he left but he never really qualified for ‘legend’ in the first place.

not sure any members of staff were let go after De Zerbi joined were there? He seemed happy to keep the bare bones that he was left with (in part, thanks to the likes of Bruno) and brought in his own men to supplement the coaching staff. He hasn't shunned anyone that was here before him. He's been happy to work with Andrew Crofts, for example.
I don't believe for a minute that Bruno would have been let go once De Zerbi came in and I think ideologically he would have been a welcome member of the coaching staff.
Bruno backed Potter and left. I imagine financially it was beneficial for him and his family, that's fine and now he has coaching at Chelsea on his CV which might help his career I guess but he can't expect to be welcomed back at Brighton with open arms.

Absolutely this. Imagine the meltdown if PBOBE or TB got rid of Bruno. They named a bloody room after him FFS.
And do you think they'd employ someone who's first action would be to sack a club legend?
It's an insult to our owner and the hierarchy that a fan even considers this IMO. Bruno had a job for life here.

We will never know if bruno or ben roberts would have been kept on......however all previous evidence points to ex players being employed, retained and promoted in this club if theyre capable enough (greer, nathan jones, crofts etc)
