Galatasaray?

Really??

Surely he had better offers than that.
Sounds like yet another contract decision he's going to regret.

It’s of some comfort to know that there were rumours that he was staying in Croydon, only a few days ago. A lot of Palace would have assumed they be watching their man, week in and week out at Selhurst. This would have come as a nasty shock. At least they can spend the money on someone else now.

I can't believe Galatasaray would be offering more than the £200k pw Palace were rumoured to be offering.

He really didn't want to sign a new deal with them, did he....

Finally free

Shame really, he was one of the few that got the rivalry.

I hope Jordan Ayew has been practising “channeling the energy that got them there”

I give his mural a week

More I think about it the more attractive Galatasaray would be as a destination at this point in your career. Either of the other two big Istanbul teams would be great as well.

Anyone else a little sad?

He's been an excellent pantomime villain - gets the rivalry, has scored some big goals against us, has at times been made to look a buffoon by us, has been made to look like he was about to cry by us and has generally been easy to dislike.

Who's going to fill that role now? Apart from Eze and Olise who are decent they're all just a bunch of no mark nonentities.

Also, fair play for choosing Galatassary. He would have made more staying at palace and shed loads more going to Saudi so he's chosen Galatassary for actual footballing reasons. Although I will laugh my arse inside out if they get knocked out of the Champions league in the qualifying rounds.

It's a good opportunity for Palace to spend that £200k per week that they offered on some decent prospects instead. If they did that, they'd perhaps actually end up better off without WZ. As it is, we know they'll make an absolute mess of replacing him, yet still manage to survive.
