What happened to the emergency alert system we all had coming through on our phones?

Isn't this the sort of thing it should be used for?

Stay away from certain areas/road closures etc etc?

You want to be woken up at 4am to be told to stay away from Nottingham?

Not sure you were paying attention to what it was for as it can be targeted at certain cell towers and only went to everyone as a test.
Yeah I was paying attention, thanks. Here’s the criteria for using it:

That is possible reasons, not criteria. The criteria is threat to life.
It’s danger to life. And the examples are all clearly of environmental dangers, not crimes.

Good grief. So you think they wouldn't use it in the event of a terrorist attack because they didn't list it on their website? What a strange hill to choose to die on. At least we won't get alert about it, I suppose.

Looks like the plan is to expand it to terrorism and escaped prisoners amongst other things so in answer to the original question - Do I want to be woken up at 4am to be warned to avoid a town I am close to and might be going to? Yes. But it may not be what they use it for at the moment.

West African migrant.Where is Lineker?
Is that an actual question, or just a pointless derailing comment in the hope of a binfest ?

I'm sure there is a GBNews show you can watch that might give you some hearty tucker.

I could be wrong, but it's unusual for new members to get political so quickly. You do give the vibe of an old member carrying on where they left off.

I have reported the oaf three times tonight for trolling, and put him on ignore (for my own sanity). I initially thought he was a middle aged gammon (all the Trump love and deliberate omission of text spaces) but I'm guessing now he's a spotty sixth former with anger issues.

On the BBC and other places. However, I realise that it goes against the ‘we must help all these poor refugees’ leftist narrative. (Expect I’ll get the usual left wing insults of racist, nazi etc.).

BTW, I have no issue with immigration - however, the current situation is out of control and too many economic migrants (not genuine refugees) are coming here. The infrastructure of the country can’t cope - housing, schools, NHS etc.

Also, many don’t want to integrate into our culture but want to force us to adopt their culture. You try taking that approach in strict Arab countries. We’re told we have to be mindful of their laws/customs, but over here we have to allow them to do what they want.

What has any of that to do with the incident in Nottingham?

At least part of the incident appears to be similar to what Darren Osborne did in Finsbury Park:shrug:

According to the Daily Telegraph this morning, the individual in this case is not a refugee or illegal migrant.

is that true ? Has anyone on this forum tried to have been ‘forced’ to adopt someone else’s culture in the U.K.?

The only example I have is my parents forcing me to go to Sunday school as a kid 😂
