Over the years i have always had this conversation with my mates, and sadly, seen a few of these played out. So what are your three pieces. Entering, the bit in the middle, and when the coffin goes off. I think I've settled on these and they haven't changed in the last few years

Entering: Sussex By The Sea.
No middle bit.
Coffin: Sympathy For The Devil - Stones.

My ashes will then be made into a firework and I’ll be fired out over the channel from Brighton Beach.

You have to have a middle bit, it's the law, although I do like the finale

@WATFORD zero you have my choice in Jimmy Cliff, it almost seems to have been written as a funeral dirge.

I don't actually want a funeral however so not sure what options I have when the time comes...

Seriously? Cant I just have a pause, or maybe a poem?

Sympathy is a song I have loved ever since I first heard it. it’s my favourite song. It’s also a nod to my parents, especially my father, as I was raised in a very musical house.

Going up the chimney - Highway to Hell.

When my dad died a few years ago he’d always joked he wanted to go through the curtains to ‘Great Balls of Fire’ (partly his sense of humour but he was also a massive Jerry Lee Lewis fan). He did…….

I must admit, I'm not sure about the whole religious funeral/celebration of life thing but it seems to be popular amongst most religions. However three good songs, 'entrance, bit of a thoughtful moment, on your way', is something I would hope we can all agree on

I can't believe you wouldn't want all your mates to have a 'thoughtful moment' (and sympathy iIMHO is magnificant  )

Fair point. Maybe something by Hot Chip then. Reason being is I feel they’re the single most band which has given me my most enjoyment on record and especially live.
