An England international. How much would that cost Tony Bloom?
You need to be an England International to be able to deliver from free kicks and corners? We are probably the worst in the PL at it, imagine if we could find someone, even a Johnny Foreigner who could do it at least just once a game

We were quite short compared to Newcastle yesterday.

Gilmour/Undav on Burn.

Don’t be silly. Trippier is an excellent player, and one of my favourites when England is playing.
Our recruitment is excellent. Pascal Groß corners are good quality.

They're shattered. Perv has been unbelievable all season, but he's gone. Pascal is ultra reliable, but he couldn't hit a pass first half. Mitoma'a track is empty. The list goes on.

Injuries mean that we're not able to practically rest anyone. It's a shame but we all know the squad wasn't designed to play with many games this late in the season.
Yes good post….

It does also show quality wise, we’re light in terms of depth…..

Good to see the youngsters getting a few minutes though.

Remind me of the last time we put in a corner or a free kick that we scored from. I think we have managed one goal from a corner this season, so the quality by March and Gross is not all that. I am not moaning because overall we are brilliant but set pieces are pretty rubbish imo and need sorting.

If you think it’s a silly idea to find someone who can do it, that’s just your opinion and I don’t agree.

Was pretty angry last night.
Having spunked £12 on Now TV to watch it ( I don't know why I do this, pretty sure we have never won, when i have)

Seen some Twitter garbage about RDZ picking a shit team to "prove a point to the board"

Ridiculous comments, the point isn't under debate.
We don't have a deep enough squad to compete in every match of a 45 game season. FACT.

I didn't like the team he put out, but if that means there's a chance of putting out a better side against Saints, City and Villa, then fair play.
Much higher chance of getting points from those games.

Onwards.

Pathetic isn’t it. We really do have some morons
Nine out injured and this lad comes in and does ok considering he’s only played a few games
There were much worse performances than his last night.
Depends how extreme it gets IMO.

It is a discussion board and people have opinions….

Van Hecke, I felt was poor, so were others, but there were mitigating circumstances in terms of tiredness/fatigue, and in PvH’s case lack of practice.

Just need a 6’7” defender 😉😂, with the turning circle of an oil tanker….

To be fair, Dunk, Colwill, Webster have all missed very presentable chances from corners on multiple occasions, so not sure it is delivery IMO.

Given how little he has played and the enormity of the game I think he did OK overall and it’s a learning curve all defenders have to make at the level we are now at. It’s just a shame we were forced into playing him in a game like last night. Good experience though I think.

We do need to improve set pieces but you want an England international player or similar, when our boards MO is to find youngsters to improve and increase in value.

Must just be me that can’t get excited any more when we get free kicks just outside the box and corners then. Might as well just give the ball to the opposition in most cases :lolol:

Spot on. We do score from crosses, like the excellent Welbeck header but dead ball situations are not so hot at present.

I’m absolutely convinced that this problem will be sorted in the summer.

We had players on the pitch last night who should be nowhere near the bench, they just aren’t ready for EPL football against a top 3 side. They need development loans, time and experience. No wonder we played so badly and lost.

Good experience agree, I thought he was poor though. Uncomfortable on the ball not great passing (maybe trying too hard to play RdZ ball - which can make players look bad who are not game ready as they try and delay), poor on defensive elements similar to the Leicester game, just positionally lacking. Their third was a bad decision and he wasn’t great on the second, but that could also be applied to those behind him as well

He needs games to be fair and like Gyokores and Ostigard he could turn into a good player. Had a, great season in the championship with Blackburn.

A neutral sent me a text saying Burn’s celebration was disrespectful. I know it’s his boyhood team and all that, but he could’ve shown a bit of class.
It was the ‘secondary’ celebration particularly that rankled a bit, directed at those behind the goal I guess but looked to be including us (and he’s the only player who would have had us in his eyeline :lolol: :lolol:)

Pretty classless of him whatever - thought he was better than that.
