The most curious thing..
Yeah, I went to a few of those. I remember a really cold day for a match against Cambridge University. That link you posted earlier for ECB live streaming. Do I have to pay to watch ? As an exile I am keen on watching a few games from Hove this Summer.

352/7 seems like a decent day out at any rate (over 5 an over, as it happens).
Does that run rate more reflect the bowling or the batting approach?
Bit of both + good pitch and short boundary.

Good start this morning - polished off the tail for 24 runs, Orr and Hainess looking solid until a shockingly unlucky run out for Orr.
42/1.

I do look in and out of stream. However really cant understand why this is free. Surely a small charge would raise a few bob and surely it stops people attending the ground

111-4, if it wasn't for Pujara in the the last couple of seasons we would have been relegated to Minor County status...

Stream yesterday was not great. Started off out of sync and then the commentary sounded like they were doing a Norman Collier tribute (one for the kids!) so I gave up.

I just turned the stream on and the commentary is about a minute ahead.
As an aside, flicking through the other streams, the Sussex one seems significantly worse than the others.
Lancashire have Paul Allot and Michael Atherton on the commentary at the moment.

it was a good day. I think towards the end of the opening partnership the bowling was a bit rank. I feel the final session was good all round. Durham were determined to pile on the boundaries whatever and Sussex bowled quite well on a pitch offering only a small amount of assistance

Pujara gives a fine example of playing every ball on it's merits by getting a maximum just before tea.
He's now top scorer for the match but Sussex still have a substantial deficit to make up ... I don't think it will be the last time this season.

Oh, and just spotted Billy Taylor is one of the officials for the game.

I see Puj is letting the batting down as usual.

I'm going to ask some silly questions now - Is Archer still a Sussex player and if so is he fit or injured ?

Still a Sussex player, is now fit but in between IPL and Test Cricket you won't be seeing him turning out for Sussex. Same for Ollie Robinson...

Yes, he’s a Sussex player. I believe he’s at the IPL atm. It’s unlikely he will play red ball cricket for Sussex anytime soon.

Thank you for information - disappointing tho' it is.

So are we nailed on for another poor championship season ?

It’s looking very likely. We haven’t added much of note, we’ve got youngish lads like Hunt and Crocombe opening our attack. We’re a step above minor counties but we are going to struggle badly again this year.
