Don't hold your breath on that front.
After all, this is a forum that allows Dougie to troll whenever he feels safe to show himself.
This whole thread seems distasteful IMO - aren’t posts making personal attacks on other members considered ‘trolling’? I’m not disagreeing or agreeing with any of the sentiments expressed (although I had it out with him myself soon after I joined) but surely, NSCers can do better than public floggings to make their complaints known about other members - isnt that the what ‘report button, Mods and private messaging is for?

I’m sure Swansman is old enough and ugly enough to look after himself, but it’s the less vocal, less confident members of the forum that I fear will be put off from participating in NSC more often or stop completely , not because one person is being a d*ck or whatever but that it could be them next if a lot of people don’t like their posts and fear they could be subjected to the same punishing personal attacks on a thread dedicated for that purpose and the Mods will do nothing to stop it.

I think it's very bad form to start a thread singling out a poster. He talks random shite sometimes, takes a very opinionated view sometimes but at other times he talks sense and can be the voice of reason (sort of). Not fair to start on him when this forum is full of opposite views. In my opinion it's what makes it good! I can only think a bit of 'toning it down a bit' from Swansman, no need for a ban, that would be silly as he hasn't done anything wrong apart from express is firm beliefs on any thread about GP & rightly or wrongly there are a lot of threads about GP at the moment. 🤷‍♀️ Just because he isn't a die-hard BHA fan doesn't mean he should be banned.

Had him on Ignore but as he's frigging everywhere, and quoted by many, this ruined many of the threads for me - so I took him off Ignore, and i just don't read his posts. It's the volume of posts. I don't mind disagreeing with him but, when I find him irritating, I don't want him everywhere. No different than someone down the pub. After a while I'd change pubs if they were there and loud each and every visit. No offense to him meant at all as it's a free space available to all, as it should be. But NSC shouldn't be overly dominated by one person imho.

edit - one the one hand I wouldn't like any individual to stop posting on here voluntarily or be banned just for being a bit disagreeable or irritating to some people. On the other on many other club forums he'd have been kicked off long long ago!

Feels unfair to gang up on him like this. For what it’s worth, he’s not a bad person and I find his posts either interesting and insightful, amusing or insane but always easy to skim over if need be.
It wasn’t, but this thread makes it seem like that.

He made snide remarks about our results etc under RDZ.

As a childish revenge because we were laughing at Potter, Chelsea and Boehly. The laughing at Chelsea was not directed at him.

Then naturally from an Albion forum he got the comments back, as above.

This sort of thing isn't par for the course on here - I completely agree.

But it's become a bit of a burning topic - the sheer volume of posts is something that I've picked up on over the last week or so.

Swansman has enough self-awareness to not want to outstay his welcome, which is why I've taken this unusual step. It's a quick gauging of opinion before any action is taken and we all just move on.

I’m enjoying him losing the plot over Potter, he does seem to be slowly (much like Potter) to be losing his collective mind. I think he’s alright, his obsession with Graham, is all of, odd, entertaining, delusional and psychotic. He does bring a lot though, his posts on Women’s football are very decent and he is quite an interesting character.

I would never put anyone on ignore , why would you ? the whole point is for alternative discussion and views , that`s how i learn anyway . Swanny has a good sense of the game , sometimes annoying but that`s only an opinion , if i had a problem with our Welsh/Swedish pal it would be the pure quantity of posts .

I always find the cream always rises to the top - you know who you are - quality not quantity . By the way talking of putting people on ignore .......anyone there ??

Sheebo you’re coming across as a whiney little fu ck and I wouldn’t have pinned that on you 🙂
Got to admit I smiled at this 😄 you’re right - not my style at all & i’m meant to be on a self ban from posting anymore but people keep quoting me 🤷🏻‍♂️

Oh and btw nobody started a thread on it @Cotton Socks - Bozza picked it out from the Potter thread to stop derailing it… Seems very split with what annoys people of course - that’s life - and then others piling in with opinions based on the fact they are just too cool for this sort of shit😬

Part of the reason he posts so much is because there's a hard-core of fans who want to debate everything he says. He most definitely has the right of reply. Quite frankly Swansman appears to win 90% of these debates hands down.

Threads like these rarely reflect well on the people doing the criticising. Swanny is very welcome here as far at I'm concerned.

I like him. Talks bollocks on occasion but if that was a banning issue there would be no posters left, certainly me included. Hugely knowledgeable on European football in particular, never seems to be overly disrespectful and I enjoy the back and forth with him. Up Potters arse for sure, but that’s a personal choice - adds to the debate.

#swansman in. If you don’t like him, put him on ignore.

Jack Leach is doing ok but he’s no Swanny.

No doubt, you will be moving this thread to the bear pit shortly…

i had my doubts about him from the start, his condescending posts telling us how to support our team, I’ve had slanging match’s with the fella, got wound up by him to the point my blood boils, I could have quite happily have wrapped a 4x2 around his head several times.

I never once put him on ignore, because despite my annoyance and arguments with him, occasionally he has a point, and a different even if warped point view is interesting sometimes.

recently, I’ve bigger problems than him, life’s too short to get wound up by someone who basically has not got clue how it “feels” to support The Albion, he can never have my joy when we win, feel or understand my despair when we lose.

He is not a Brighton fan, he is a cuckoo.
Absolutely perfect (y)

The volume is a lot and as I suggested he should 'tone it down a bit', but people can just skim read like I do & decide whether to read in depth or not. If everyone on here was banned for what others consider to be a load of shite, I'd be banned! :lolol:

Because there’s been countless posts saying it and countless likes on posts saying it…
Bearing in mind on any internet forum, whenever’s there’s a playground fight, you will have an unknown proportion of ‘countless likes’ from people just letting you know they’ve got the popcorn and are sitting down to enjoy the show ! 🙂

Pretty spot on except the 90% thing.
